Just Keep Swimming…...

08.09

It's kind of my motto right now…. Just Keep Swimming…… Our lives have been crazy busy over the last week, and I have barely had a moment to breathe. Which explains my lack of blogging this week in a timely manner!

I think it all started last Friday….. I received a phone call from the girls daycare that Megan was running a temperature. I needed to stay at work because I had IEPs to finish, kids to screen, paperwork stacking up on my desk, but DJ also had to work because that's just the life in college football. Yes y'all, the football work never stops. It's recruiting season after all.

So we managed to reach a compromise, that I would pick Megan up from daycare, bring her to my school, and then when DJ could leave, he would come pick her up from me and take her home.
Poor baby was sleeping in the office when I arrived, and they told me that she didn't eat lunch. I drove us through Braums, and then she fell asleep less than 5 minutes away from my school. Once we got in my office, she still wouldn't eat, I was surprised at how delicious their chicken sandwich was, and then I worked on papers while she played with stickers and colored.

DJ finally arrived around 1:30, and I was able to finish my day while he took her home.

Friday night, DJ stayed home with the girls while I went to my Bows, Bags, and Wine party! It was a blast, and I took zero pictures!

I came home around 11:30 and quickly realized that I am way too old to stay up that late! Megan was still awake too.
DJ got up Saturday morning to go to recruiting day at football. The girls and I hung around the house and had a lazy day, rather than the shopping day I had planned.  Megan was still cranky that morning, but by the afternoon she had perked up.
We made yonana ice cream with the machine that my mother in law gave me for Christmas!

Around 5:00, Megan started to get whiny again, so I layed her down on the couch.

Gretchen decided she would cook herself dinner. She combined pepperoni, goldfish, graham crackers, raisins, and sprinkles in a bowl. And y'all, she ate it! Um. Gross.

For the record, Megan ate it too.
And then she fell asleep.

She ended up getting a temperature around 102 that night and we figured out that tylenol makes this girl hyper!

She finally fell back asleep, in our bed…. I think DJ slept in Megan's bed Friday and Saturday night.

We skipped church on Sunday since Megan had been running a temperature the night before, and Gretchen and I went shopping for her birthday and to buy groceries.
I took her to Panera for lunch.

Monday was MLK day, so I got to stay home with the girls! By this time, Megan was feeling better, and the girls had this bright idea:
I may or may not have had an emotional breakdown at some point during the day calling DJ home to give me a moment of sanity. I felt like I had gone non stop and that life was spinning out of control. Because, honestly, it just does sometimes.

I gathered myself together and Gretchen told me later that afternoon that I had been crying like a baby. And yes, I realized that I was very pathetic, but sometimes, it's so hard to be right there in the moment when it feels like you have no control over anything.

We made it through the day, and I one night this week I took a picture of Addy sleeping. I don't remember which night, but she was just so peaceful looking and I love how baby's sleep with their bums in the air.
I successfully made it through two work days this week and I told myself that my to-do list there could wait until Friday when I had more time.

Wednesday night, we put Megan to bed, and she was up crying and complaining that her ear hurt. We cleaned out the ear wax and gave her a little allergy medicine, and then I ended up sleeping with her in her bed. I think we finally got her to sleep around 11:00 last night, and then she was up a few times crying and holding her ear.

So, now i'm home today and we've scheduled her a doctor appointment for later this afternoon. I'm trying to get caught up on laundry and house cleaning, because this weekend will be a big one!

My oldest honey pie will be SIX!!!!! And, next week, i'll have a few posts dedicated to her and her birthday!

Check back tomorrow for my #weltegram2014 post! It's been a crazy week and I'm just glad I remembered to get a picture every day!

In the mean time, let's "Just Keep Swimming."
