Our Snowed in Weekend Wrap Up

As you know per yesterdays blog post we've been snowed in this weekend! The ice and snow started on Thursday evening and we decided to make homemade pizza followed by chocolate chip cookies!
I was so thankful that DJ was able to enjoy a full three days home with us. Friday we cleaned most of the day and then DJ took the girls outside to play.
I found Adalyn in her bed with her pajamas unbuttoned! She's found her feet and I guess on Friday, she pulled at them so much it unsnapped her pajamas. It looks like she only has 1/2 a leg here in this picture, but I assure you she has a full leg.

We had chili for dinner Friday night!

Saturday, my house looked like this. The girls decided to bring down all of the play food from upstairs and serve us a meal.
Meggie was tired after her nap on Saturday, and I thought maybe she'd go back to sleep, but she did not.
A little while later, she was acting like her silly goofball self again.
We found Adalyn asleep on her blanket (well, it's Gretchen's blanket) Saturday night.

On Sunday, we ventured out to church and then we went to Los Cabos for lunch. LC is usually so busy that you'll have at least an hours wait no matter what time you go, but we got right in!
Meggie did so good sitting in her high chair and eating chips!
I had to get a picture of Adalyn when we got home on Sunday afternoon, because she's wearing one of my dresses. I'm thankful that my mom saved a few pieces of my clothing, and each of the girls have been able to wear this dress.

I spent Sunday afternoon working on an appliqué shirt and then I read a little bit.
We gave the girls baths on Sunday night just in case we had school on Monday.

We did not.
After we put the girls to bed, DJ and I watched a movie and I worked on hair bows.

DJ went to work on Monday and I did more laundry and cleaned the house in preparation for going back to work Tuesday. I also made banana bread muffins!
During Megan's nap, I got to sit down and read some more! I've had this book since September and have not had the chance to read it at all! I've been thankful for this little time out in life so I can catch up on reading!

I also wanted to let you know that on Thursday, i'll be sharing a few Elf on the Shelf ideas, and you'll be able to link up on my Facebook page with your own pictures!

On Friday, i'll be linking up with Kelly's Korner and showing you a home tour of my Christmas decorations since I haven't shared those yet!

Weekend Wrap Up

We had such a busy weekend!!! So many things were on our agenda and then I decided to cram in more!

I was able to stay home Friday morning and get the house picked up, and then I took Addy to daycare around 11 before I headed in to work for a few hours. She was such a happy girl before we left.
I picked up all of the girls after school, and then we headed to Old Navy to buy Gretchen a pair of blue jeans. She refused to wear blue jeans last year, but I know that she really needs a pair for this fall and winter, so I had her try on three different styles and hopefully she'll wear them!

Of course, the girls had to play with the mannequins after we shopped.
Then, we headed to Marble Slab and had ice cream for dinner.
We came home Friday evening, and our neighbor came over to hold Addy and I did some embroidery and then had a comment game on my facebook page.

DJ was at the team hotel Friday night setting up for meetings, but when he was done, he and Lance, the video coordinator at Rice came over to hang out for a while.

Fun fact: DJ has three working video coordinators that at one time worked as students for DJ. Lance is at Rice, who we played against this weekend, and the video coordinators at BSU, and Mississippi State, also worked for DJ at one time.

Saturday morning, DJ went to the hotel for meetings and then on to the stadium. The girls and I cleaned the house and then got ready for the game.
Because the weather turned off cold, I decided the girls needed long sleeve game shirts.
Meggie was so excited to wear her new football shirt! All Saturday morning she kept begging me to get her dressed; which is rare, because she usually runs around the house in her birthday suit.
I failed miserably at getting a good picture of the girls in their shirts together. I can only convince one of them to actually look at me.

We managed to get to the game just in time for kickoff.

We watched the first quarter in the family suite, but wasps were coming in through the windows, so we just went outside. I'm highly allergic to wasps..... We watched the 2nd quarter & half time outside and the girls ran and played, and then we went inside for the last half of the game.

Meggie fell asleep on the way home, because she didn't nap at all on Saturday, but as soon as I put her to bed, she told me that she wanted dinner.
So, the girls ate a squeeze pouch, cereal bar, and fruit.

Sunday morning, Gretchen sang in the children's choir at the 8 am service. There's a reason we don't go to church that early! I was so tired, but managed to drag myself out of bed. DJ stayed home and slept and the other two girls stayed home too.
I tried to get G's picture this morning, but she was too cold!
Gretchen cheered up once she put on her choir robe and warmed up!
The kids sang one song for the chapel service, and then she and I left rather than staying. I knew I needed to get home since DJ was exhausted from working all Saturday night. I told Gretchen that Meggie would probably be kicking her door down by the time we got home and that DJ and Adalyn would probably still be asleep.
G and I picked up doughnuts for breakfast on our way home. She picked out the pumpkins and spider webs for she and Megan, and the football dougnut for daddy.

I actually ended up taking a two hour morning nap once Adalyn was settled back down and the big girls played and watched t.v.
Then, we headed to a birthday party in the afternoon.

Addy spent her time in the sling sleeping.
Meggie and I (below) while she was playing outside.
After the party, Adalyn took a nap, and I had the girls lay down and I turned on Teen Beach Movie for them, and then I fell asleep again.

I woke up to find the girls hanging out on the bar stools.
I finally convinced myself to get up, and fix dinner, and then I gave the girls their baths. Afterwards, we read books on the couch until bedtime.
We had such a fun filled weekend! It was so busy, and i'm so glad I snuck in some naps. I have been going non stop and it finally caught up to me!

Hope y'all had a great weekend as well!

Tid bits & Randoms of Last Week

I feel so bad that I'm now doing weekly catch up posts rather than daily catch up posts! We are finally in a routine and schedule and so far, it's working out fairly well. I think Gretchen is well adjusted to the school routine, as is Megan, and Addy is still getting use to things, but it's hard when she's at daycare every other day.

Last Monday was the first day that I actually met most of my speech kiddos and started therapy. I think it's going to be a great year!

Monday afternoon, I picked up all of the girls, and as soon as we get home, I sit down to feed Adalyn. Megan crawled up in my lap too, and was extra cuddly Monday afternoon. She was also extra whiny because she has had a cold and over the weekend had run about a 99 degree temp. Nothing big, but enough to make her feel bad.
I didn't feel like cooking Monday night, and Gretchen wanted hot dogs. I decided that since it was such a nice fall day, we'd have chili dogs. I'm not ashamed to admit that I opened up a can of chili that had been in my pantry for seriously too long, and made myself a chili dog.
And, it was dang good.

I kept Megan and Addy home on Tuesday. I usually go to Bible study Tuesday morning, but since Megan wasn't feeling good Monday night, I decided to keep her home with me. I realized that afternoon, I should've just sent her to daycare. She would have been fine. Man she was whiny all day long.

Megan and Addy had school pictures a few weeks ago, and we received the proofs to order pictures from:

I'm pretty sure we won't be ordering any.

Thankfully, we had pictures taken over the summer, by the so talented Madison Vining of Madison Vining Photography. so I don't feel bad about not buying these. They're hysterical and I'll keep the proofs just to show Megan what her personality was at age 2. I'm now debating even ordering pictures of Gretchen when her school pictures are taken later this week.

Wednesday night, Gretchen had children's choir. Megan was able to play on the playground before we headed home and we let G stay for Wednesday Night Live and DJ picked her up. She's been begging to stay for WNL, and finally on a night where it was a little more convenient, they chose to let the big kids play outside and have sno cones rather than hold worship. G was in Heaven. I think we'll have to let her stay again on a worship night!

Meggie climbed this, and for the record, G didn't climb one until she was 3. Megan's my little monkey climber.

Thursday was TU's home game against Iowa State. I won't even go into details about the game #didnotturnoutwell #welost. But, G wore her "Tulsa Girl" dress and bow that I made her and her chunky necklace from LG's Necklaces (you can find them on facebook).
She also wore her pink Nike's. Bless her.

She later said, "Did you get my Nike's in the picture mom?" "No, hun, I did not." "Well, thanks because if you put it online, people would laugh at me since I don't match."

#shehasthatright

I kind of regret buying her pink nikes, because that's all she wants to wear. Have I mentioned she wears dresses or skirts almost every day?

Nikes and dresses just don't go together.

Stay tuned for Friday's re-cap with my weekend wrap up posts! It was a great one!

What We've Been Up To

This is my last stay at home week with Adalyn. I'm trying to enjoy and soak up my time at home, but I'm also busy taking the older girls to school, running errands, sewing, and competing all the other tasks that a mom needs to do.

I try to cuddle with Addy a lot during the day, but I also let her sleep in her crib; she's doing so much better taking naps. Her morning naps are usually fantastic, but around 12-2 she naps off and on.

Her 3-5 nap is shot because we're picking up the other girls, getting home, and trying to get ready for dinner, but we're making it through.

Gretchen made herself a tent using her play table and tons of blankets. I went upstairs to check on her and could only see a foot and a hand sticking out. I called DJ upstairs to see her, and she crawled out from under the table, grabbed a drink, and then crawled back in to sleep.
One morning Addy and I went to Wal-Mart, and I despise Wal-Mart, but I needed to pick up thread, and I didn't want to go all the way into town to pick it up.

We also found this:
I totally bought it for my stepdad's birthday.

I also found this:
I have been wanting a leopard print scarf since last spring and could not find one anywhere! I totally scored with this one for only $4.00!

Here's Addy after an afternoon feeding, buckled in her carseat so we could go get her sisters.

Tuesday night the girls went to our neighbors house so I could go to Gretchen's open house at her school.

On Wednesday, I decided that I would start Gretchen in children's choir in church. She loves to sing and make up songs, so I thought this would be a fun (free) extra-curricular activity for her.
Once we got home from school, I got Addy settled, dinner cooked, and after we ate it was time to get in the car again. To be quite honest, I really didn't want to go. Addy had been crying, and Megan was being her mischievous self, but I knew that I needed to take her.

I'm so glad that we went. Once we got there, we saw a little girl that lives in our neighborhood that we had met at the pool this summer. Her mom is also Meggie's Sunday school teacher. She helped me figure out where to drop of Gretchen, and Megan and Adalyn and I spent the next hour on the playground and walking around the church. We have been attending our church for over a year, but we attend a service in a different building, so I'm not very familiar with the actual building the sanctuary is housed in. We walked around and heard the orchestra practicing and it was the most beautiful music. I could tell that Megan was intrigued so we went into the sanctuary, sat in the back, and peacefully listened to them practicing. It almost brought tears to my eyes thinking that Gretchen would have missed choir tonight and that Megan and I would have missed such beautiful music.

DJ ended up meeting us there and picking up Megan and Adalyn.

Once I picked up Gretchen, she and I went into Hobby Lobby and we saw a hot air balloon.

We've been reading the Wizard of Oz, so I joked with her that it was the wizard's balloon. It was a fun sight to see.

On Thursday, Adalyn stayed with our neighbor for a little while so I could go get a much needed hair cut, mani and pedi... okay, so they mani and pedi weren't needed, but they were certaintly enjoyed!
