WIWW: A Dress Edition

Today's edition of What I Wore Wednesday, is a little different! I play by my own rules, and honestly I've been stuck in the house since Saturday, and I have no outfit pictures to share. So, I thought I'd change it to "What I Would Wear."

DJ and I have a wedding in April for one of his co-workers. The wedding is in Denver, and we decided to leave the girls with my mom and that we would have a little get away weekend!

The only problem, is that my dress collection is sparse. I have several dresses that I wear with leggings. I have a more formal cocktail dress, and then I have a handful of dresses that I've had for several years.

Personally, I think the occasion calls for a new dress. And because I work full time, and have three little girls, that means that I need to do some online shopping!
I found this dress at Loft. (Here) and I love the detail around the neckline. It's so elegant. I'm not sure the color would look good on me. I have a feeling it would totally wash me out.
I love the simplicity of this dress. (Here) Plus, I can see myself wearing this all the time!
I'm dying over this dress! I love how it flares at the bottom, and it's another one that I think I could wear more than once. (Here)

This dress is available in the Junior Department at Nordstrom's. (Here) I think I could totally dress it up to be wedding appropriate.
I went to Gap next, and found this blue dress. (Here) I'm a sucker for anything royal blue, because I can totally convince DJ that it's appropriate for any football event.

This is another dress i'm drooling over! I love the 3/4 sleeves and the flare of the skirt. (Here). It's totally appropriate for a wedding in Denver in April.

So, which is your favorite? Where's your "go-to" dress store?

A Late Edition of WIWW

I'm getting this post up way later than planned today! Typically, I have a few minutes before work, but I had a meeting this morning, and we had our state writing test today that I had to help administer, and this is the first time that I had a chance to sit down and write today.

I usually link up with several blogs for WIWW and lately I have not been good AT ALL about taking pictures! In fact, I think this first outfit is something that you've already seen, and I just didn't delete it off my phone!
But, it's my all time favorite outfit right now. I purchased the shirt from Loft back in January and it was on sale, and ti's the perfect long sleeve t right now. I love the little ruffles down the front, love the buttons, and I love how it hangs and it doesn't hug my mid-section.

I paired it with skinny jeans and tall boots and this was a super easy outfit that I wore when taking Gretchen to a birthday party. With a longer tank underneath, it could be paired with leggings, or you could add some color with a scarf.

Speaking of scarves:
Last week, I wore an ivory colored dress that I bought at Target (last Fall). I paired the dress with leggings and boots, but wanted to add a pop of color. Typically, I've worn this outfit with just the leopard scarf tied in bow, but I decided to layer two scarves together for the look above. I loved the pop of color and that the two scarves added a little more bulk, because they're each pretty thin when worn seperately.

Thanks for stopping by today! I feel like I've been a mix of running late and crazy all over the place lately, to which my husband would just tell me that I need to wake up a little earlier every day. #nothankyou

What I Wore Wednesday

It's Wednesday, so it's time for another link up with The Pleated Poppy, Get Your Pretty On, and Because Shanna Said So! I didn't link up last week and I have been a little better about getting outfit pictures, so yay for today's post!
A few weeks ago I was feeling uninspired and like I had nothing to wear in my closet. I decided to get on Pinterest and see what I had pinned, and I found the picture above.

Then, I remembered that I had almost the exact same outfit in my closet.
Radiant Orchid, or Purple for those of you who like to use regular vocabulary, is suppose to be one of the most popular colors this spring! I'm so glad that I bought this shirt before I knew that, because it makes me feel like I'm sort of trendy!

I paired the Radiant Orchid shirt (from Loft) with a pair of grey cropped dress pants, and ivory/linene booties.

I also added a green necklace, because I had one and the inspiration picture had one! I probably would have never put green jewelry on with this shirt, but I love it!

And y'all, I have not had this shirt for very long, and it already has some wash wear, which makes me sad, because I wash it, but hang it up to dry.
Last week, it was cold and snowy and just miserable. So, I decided to pull out an old favorite of mine, and mix some prints and bright colors!
We had more snow, so I pulled together this outfit in order to stay warm.
Black fleece leggings, brown Emu boots, chambray tunic, brown puffer vest, and a long necklace. I was very warm and toasty!
This is my hat that I wear when it's snowy and cold! I know people laugh at me, but I really do love it! I bought it when we were moving from Louisiana to Indiana, and all the winter things were on clearance in January, and I knew it would still be cold in Indiana so I bought a bunch of winter things to prepare. I wore this hat in April in Indiana because I thought it was still so cold! I may have gotten a lot of stares.
I wore this outfit to work on Monday. It's a sheer navy blouse from Loft, skinny jeans, and my brown boots. I really loved this look. It may be one of my favorites!

Thanks for reading today! I hope y'all have a crazy blessed hump day!

What I Wore Wednesday

Um, y'all, it is Wednesday! Having Monday off for MLK day sure has thrown me off this week! I sat down at my desk this morning to catch up on a little blog reading before throwing myself into my work, and realized that it's Wednesday, and I said on Monday night that I'd be back to blogging today. So, here I am! I know, you're all super excited and you missed me so much!

I'm linking up with these fabulous blogs today: with The Pleated Poppy for WIWW, Get Your Pretty On, and Because Shanna Said So.

I've been at a loss as to what to wear the last few days. I am SO ready for spring, and I wish I could just wear jeans every single day, but I can't. So, every night when I feed Adalyn before I go to bed, I've been browsing through my Pinterest fashion board trying to find inspiration for the next day.

That's where this first look came from.
I paired black leggings with a long wite tank, a black sweater wrap shirt, cognac boots, and then I wore two scarfs instead of just one to give a more full look to my leopard print scarf.

See: here's the look from Pinterest:
I just take a screen shot of the picture, so I can remember the next day!

And, here's a look of my double scarf.

Here's another sort of Pinterest inspired look.  I took a screen shot of the look I was going for, but I added the black and cream stripe cardigan (Loft) to help cover my hiney!
I wore this yesterday, and it was so warm!
I swear y'all, I don't wear leggings every day. I told DJ, this morning, that I could wear leggings every day, but I promise I don't! In fact, i'm wearing grey cropped dress pants today, and it's another Pinterest inspired outfit that i'll share with y'all next week!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope y'all have a blessed day!

Monday Ramblings

It's Monday y'all! Can I get a Woot Woot?! Yeah, i'm not feeling it either, but alas, we are here again ready to start another work week. And, i'm only feeling it, because we are 5 days closer to the weekend! Here are a few ramblings for y'all to enjoy this Monday morning! (I had an entire different blog post planned, but that will have to wait until tomorrow!)
It was raining on  Friday, and the best way to wear your hair, at least in my opinion, is a low chignon on the side. I love how it's messy, but sort of chique at the same time! And, it also saves me about 15 minutes in the morning because I don't have to actually style my hair. I just tease the front and top a bit, and then pull it back into a messy bun.
Addy's daycare teacher sent me this picture of her last week. Apparently, my big girl is trying to grow up and is learning to sit up! I told DJ that this picture didn't really count because she's being supported by the boppy, but she did sit up for about 10 seconds at home this weekend all by her big self!
I have spent my evenings working on hair bows. My embroidery machine and I have been in our 2nd major argument, and it's refused to work for about two weeks now. So, I've been taking out my frustrations by making hair bows, and getting ready for a bow party this Friday night with some girl friends!

Side note: as of yesterday, my embroidery machine stitched out Gretchen's valentine day shirt with only a few major hiccups!
I've been trying to keep up with an instagram photo challenge this month, and yesterday's post was "shoes". So, there are my shoes from yesterday. I forgot to take a pic of my church shoes, so you get these montrosities (is that even how to spell that word?) I'm starting to think that these may be the uglies shoes ever, but darn it if they aren't warm and cozy! Anyway, you can instagram along too using the #eandajanchallenge

Tomorrow's post is "In your bag", followed by "bed head", "cheer", and "ride"..... those should be interesting!

Thanks Erika and Andrea for coming up with the challenge!

You can follow me on Instagram @ewelte

Yesterday morning, Gretchen took my cell phone. I later found almost 100 pictures that looked just like the ones above. She later said, she was trying to be a "fashionista".

I'm trying out this new skin care line, and after only 3 weeks, i'm already seeing the difference y'all! And, i'll be posting a full review and giveaway at the end of the month! You can see my before and current pictures on Instagram! Simply amazing if I do say so myself, and y'all they even personalize the bottle for you!

Alright lovelies, I have to work now. That's the not so fun part of my day- ha! I hope y'all have a good one! See you back here, same time, same spot tomorrow!

What I Wore Wednesday~ TU Edition

Today, I'm linking up with The Pleated Poppy for What I Wore Wednesday, as well as Because Shanna Said So!

These are quickly becoming some of my favorite posts throughout the week, and I love trying to think up new outfits to share!

Last weekend was our TU wives trip, and we have to wear business casual for the plane trip and then out for dinner with the wives, athletic department members, and alumni/donors. I really wanted to wear leggings and something a little more comfortable to travel in, but DJ hates leggings. Is he the only man out there that hates them? I told him that it's still uncomfortable for me to wear my dress pants because they're still a little snug around the waist. #thankyouverymuchbabyaddy

I think I changed outfits at least 10 times Friday morning before finally settling on this:
I did end up wearing my leggings, but I wore an ivory shirt dress on top with tall boots. The dress was long enough that you could barely tell I had on leggings. So, I think it was a win win for DJ and myself. I added a leopard print scarf tied in a bow and I was all set.

The hotel lighting was horrible so this is the best picture that we got.
For game day, I put on my skinny jeans, cognac boots, and my TU sweater that I recently ordered from Zulily.

I meant to take a picture of what I wore to work on Monday, but I did not. I was a mess by the time I got home and the girls wanted to play outside so I didn't get a picture. I wore brown/khaki slacks and a navy top. I think navy and brown/khaki is a timeless combination.

I planned on wearing leggings to work on Tuesday, but Meggie woke up with a touch of a stomach bug, so I took the day off.
I wore yoga pants, a white t, and a zip up TU hoodie.

So, what did you wear this past week? Do you have a go-to look? Does your man hate leggings too?

What I Wore Wednesday

Today, I'm linking up with The Pleated Poppy for What I Wore Wednesday, as well as Because Shanna Said So! I'm so excited to share these outfits with y'all! A few days a week I'm trying to step out of the box or to at least get dressed up a little!
Monday was jeans day at work, and I flip over jeans day! I love being able to wear jeans rather than dress pants to work.

I purchased the polk a dot tank at the end of summer from Sashy Pants when she had it on sale. I loved the shirt once it came in, but I knew that it would be fall soon, and I had no idea what to wear the tank with.

Finally on Monday, I decided to be brave and mix prints, and I'm so glad that I did!

I paired my tank with a floral cardigan from Target that I purchased last spring.

I wore my coral flats and cuffed my skinny jeans.
I also wore coral earrings and cream and green chevron bangles.

I just love how the mix of patterns ended up!

On Halloween, I paired this dotted button up (The Limited) with a pair of jeans and mustard color flats.
On Saturday, I was super excited to wear my TU bling shirt for game day!

I paired my shirt with our bowl necklace from last year, blue earrings, and red flats.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Be sure to check out my Facebook page for a giveaway and an auction! I've recently reached over 4600 'likes' so I wanted to celebrate!

What I Wore Wednesday

Today I'm linking up with The Pleated Poppy for What I Wore Wednesday, And I cannot wait to show my first look!
Sheaffer has been talking about this dress on her blog for weeks now, and I've been oodling over it! Well, it finally went on sale and I snatched it up!
I ordered a size medium, and part of me thinks I could have gotten away with a small, but I still need my post baby hips and belly to be hidden for a bit. So, I paired it with a belt to cinch the waist a bit.

I wore the Loft dress with leggings and tall boots.

I'm wearing the dress this coming Sunday to a brunch, and I don't really want to wear leggings and boots, so I'm on the hunt for a perfect shoe that should give this dress a totally different look!
Last Thursday, the girls had dentist appointments. I wore a blue tunic from the Limited (last year) with my skinny jeans and boots, and paired it with a coral necklace and earrings, and chevron bangles.

I love the mix of coral with the royal blue.

I had a super cute outfit on Monday for work, and I never got around to getting a picture of it. My office has horrible florescent lights and when I got home, I was so ready to get into something a bit more comfortable!

What I Wore Wednesday

This is my first time linking up with The Pleated Poppy for What I Wore Wednesday, and I'm so excited to be joining in! I've been wanting to join in for weeks, but family blog posts kept getting in the way!

So, I pulled together a few of my looks from the past few weeks to share with y'all today!
The above look was inspired by the picture below. I paired my Gap Long & Lean jeans with a long black tee that I have had for years, and I added a gold flower necklace and gold wedges. On Fridays, we are suppose to wear spirit wear to work, and our school colors are black and gold, so instead of wearing the same school t-shirt, I opted for the color spirit wear!
Last Monday I wore leggings to work and paired it with a turquoise tank from Old Navy and a Floral Cardigan from Target.
(this is angle is less than flattering!)

I took a shower the night before and didn't let me hair dry, and I was going to fix it Monday morning, but I actually liked the little bit of curl my hair had in it. I pinned back my bangs and that was it. I've tried to recreate the look, but I guess it was a one time thing my hair decided to do.
This past Monday, I paired a navy and white stripe tank with a black wrap sweater, leggings, and boots.
I wore my hair in a low chignon because I didn't have time to mess with it.
That afternoon, I came home and slipped on white terry pants and a zip up hoodie, so I could do some cleaning and sewing.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and again I'm so excited to be linking up! This week, i'll need to be a little more cautious about taking a variety of pics- I wear my leggings much too often!

Be Strong... and a few other things

Monday was not one of my worst days, but it definitely fell on the list of "I'm glad that's over!" I was so tired at work Monday afternoon, and yet I still had to get the girls picked up, feed them dinner, and get them to bed, and I also wanted to work on two applique orders as well.

It wasn't bath night, so I knew I had time to complete at least one of them while the girls were playing and watching t.v. and while Addy was sleeping. For the record, she only took TWO 30 minute naps at daycare all day long! She just does not sleep there! Anywho....

I went upstairs to start my applique projects for a customer that I was meeting on Tuesday morning. I made a trick or treat bag for her, and it did not turn out as I had imagined. I knew it was just okay, and in order to compensate, I was going to bring her a few hair bows. I started to work on her second shirt and it just failed. Flat out failed. Everything that could go wrong did. So, I scrapped that project, sent her an email that we couldn't meet Tuesday because I had to go purchase another shirt since I had messed up . Thankfully, she was so understanding!

Tuesday morning, I got up a little after 7. Thank you, DJ for letting me sleep in and not bugging me about when I was going to get up. I was so tired.

I got the girls dropped off, although we were almost late to school for Gretchen, but pulled in just at the nick of time! And after dropping off Meggie, Addy Pearl and I headed to my Tuesday morning Bible study.

We are studying Beth Moore's "Believing God" and let me tell y'all this one is good!
Three times on Tuesday, I heard the verse Joshua 1:9. I don't believe it was a coincidence. I am fully convicted that God is telling me to be strong and courageous right this very minute because He is here holding my hand and not letting me go. I'm not sure if He wants me to "go" somewhere or stay right where I am, but man God. I heard you loud and clear yesterday. I am clinging to this verse right now.
This is what I wore Tuesday morning to Bible Study. I found a cute look on Pinterest that I wanted to recreate, and then I remembered that Sheaffer totally thinks it's okay to pair black and brown together so I did.

After Bible study, Addy and I ran a few quick errands and then I came home to finish what I had started Monday night.
I'm so much happier with how this trick or treat bag turned out!
And I finished this snowman tie. I love him.

I also did another shirt and started on a few hair bows, but then it was time to make my rounds of picking the girls up from school.

Gretchen had book fair, so right after school, we went to the kindergarten night and she purchased three books.
She ended up getting a LaLaLoopsy book, a chapter book that I made her get (ha!), and a Sofia the First book. Because it had an amulet. That is the only reason she got that book y'all! She wanted Sofia's darn necklace and couldn't wait any longer.

She immediately came home, put it on, and started talking to our dog Bailey fully expecting Bailey to talk back to her in a human voice.

Anyway, we picked up Meggie afterwards, and then we went home so I could get Addy settled down and then I decided to make from scratch waffles. Remember y'all, I am NOT super mom.
While I was cooking dinner, Addy was fussing a bit, and I looked over to see that Meggie had pulled over her rocking chair, turned Addy's swing, and she was talking and playing with her.

 #meltmyheart

A few minutes later, Meggie decided that she should play soccer with Addy, and I'm 90% sure that soccer ball hit Addy smack dab in the head.
When I finally sat down at my desk Wednesday morning, I pulled up facebook on my phone. Because Lord knows you do not want to be caught on facebook at work! I immediately saw this picture of a cutie honey pie in her candy corn shirt I made and her October bow of the month club bow!

How precious!!!
