Monday Ramblings

It's Monday y'all! Can I get a Woot Woot?! Yeah, i'm not feeling it either, but alas, we are here again ready to start another work week. And, i'm only feeling it, because we are 5 days closer to the weekend! Here are a few ramblings for y'all to enjoy this Monday morning! (I had an entire different blog post planned, but that will have to wait until tomorrow!)
It was raining on  Friday, and the best way to wear your hair, at least in my opinion, is a low chignon on the side. I love how it's messy, but sort of chique at the same time! And, it also saves me about 15 minutes in the morning because I don't have to actually style my hair. I just tease the front and top a bit, and then pull it back into a messy bun.
Addy's daycare teacher sent me this picture of her last week. Apparently, my big girl is trying to grow up and is learning to sit up! I told DJ that this picture didn't really count because she's being supported by the boppy, but she did sit up for about 10 seconds at home this weekend all by her big self!
I have spent my evenings working on hair bows. My embroidery machine and I have been in our 2nd major argument, and it's refused to work for about two weeks now. So, I've been taking out my frustrations by making hair bows, and getting ready for a bow party this Friday night with some girl friends!

Side note: as of yesterday, my embroidery machine stitched out Gretchen's valentine day shirt with only a few major hiccups!
I've been trying to keep up with an instagram photo challenge this month, and yesterday's post was "shoes". So, there are my shoes from yesterday. I forgot to take a pic of my church shoes, so you get these montrosities (is that even how to spell that word?) I'm starting to think that these may be the uglies shoes ever, but darn it if they aren't warm and cozy! Anyway, you can instagram along too using the #eandajanchallenge

Tomorrow's post is "In your bag", followed by "bed head", "cheer", and "ride"..... those should be interesting!

Thanks Erika and Andrea for coming up with the challenge!

You can follow me on Instagram @ewelte

Yesterday morning, Gretchen took my cell phone. I later found almost 100 pictures that looked just like the ones above. She later said, she was trying to be a "fashionista".

I'm trying out this new skin care line, and after only 3 weeks, i'm already seeing the difference y'all! And, i'll be posting a full review and giveaway at the end of the month! You can see my before and current pictures on Instagram! Simply amazing if I do say so myself, and y'all they even personalize the bottle for you!

Alright lovelies, I have to work now. That's the not so fun part of my day- ha! I hope y'all have a good one! See you back here, same time, same spot tomorrow!

7 Places I Want to Visit

DJ and I celebrated oru 8 year anniversary earlier this week. When we were dating, I always said that on our 10 year wedding anniversary, I wanted to go on an all-out vacation just the two of us. And then life happened, and we have three children, and we want to buy a house again, and I honestly cannot see that vacation happening in the next two years!

So, now, I'm thinking for our 20th wedding anniversary, we need to go on an all-out vacation. In the mean time, here's a list of my top 7 places that I want to visit.

1) Disney World

I am dying to take the girls to Disney. Gretchen probably asks about going on a weekly basis. She's even told me that if she belonged in Amelia and Julia's family, she would have already been by now. Sorry, Miss G, but we do need to wait until your sisters are a little older.

2) The Beach

I don't even care what beach. As long as there is sunshine and sand and days where I have no responsibility other than to sit in said sunshine and sand with a little umbrella drink in my hand.

3) New York City

I have never been to NYC, and I don't even want to take the girls. I just want DJ and I to go together and to be scared to death trying to figure out the city. I'd also love to squeeze in a visit to Serendipity, The Plaza, Times Square, Central Park, and a Broadway show- not too much to ask.

4) Snow Skiing in Colorado

My grandparents took my cousins and I to Colorado in the summer when we were growing up. I have never been snow skiing there though. I'd love to go one winter and bundle up in a cabin and take the girls skiing.

5) Charleston, South Carolina

Another place I have never been. I just want to go and soak up the culture because I've heard so much about this fabulous city!

6) Washington DC

I'd love nothing more than to take a corny American history vacation.

7) Rome, Italy

Okay honestly, this would be my dream vacation. And, I don't want just Rome. I want all of Italy. And France, and England, and the Greek Islands.

I went to Italy, Greece, and Turkey while I was in college and I loved every single minute. But, I don't feel like I had the chance to really soak in the country. I want to go for an entire month and just explore and soak every bit in.

Praying that we'll win the lottery so I can get all of my dream vacations!

Where's your dream vacation?!

I Am Not Super Mom

My sister in law, and several other mom friends joke with me that I'm "super mom". I'm here today to tell you, "No, I'm just a mom. A tired, exhausted, very busy mom. Just like you."
My kitchen sink was full of dishes. This picture was taken Monday afternoon when I came home on my lunch break. These dishes started piling up on Saturday morning and didn't leave my sink until 5:30 pm Monday.
This is what my laundry room currently looks like. I have a pile of Gretchen's clothes to carry upstairs. I kid you not the baskets were empty on Saturday, and they're pretty much full today. I wash towels every other darn day. DJ and I even re-use our towels AND the girls bathe every other day. But, I always have dirty towels.

I have a load in my dryer that has been there since Saturday, and the load in the washer. Well, I washed it Monday afternoon, and it's still sitting in the washer building up it's mildew smell.
This is what my center island looks like.... after I cleaned it.
And my stove. Well, those cinnamon rolls were cooked on Saturday morning and they were finally picked up on Monday night.

I gave my girls doughnuts for breakfast on Sunday, and for breakfast on Monday, and Gretchen had half of a doughnut on Monday night right before she went to bed. (I did make her brush her teeth though.)
This bench is in my bedroom. The laundry basket has been there for I don't know how many days. The scarf, since Friday, the dress since Sunday morning, and the pile of clothes that the white dress is laying on top of.... well, those have been there for over a month.
Here are two pairs of shoes that are sitting about 10 feet from my closet, yet they're not in there, and if you turn around, you'll find a pair of wedges behind you. Oh, and DJ has two pair in the bathroom, there's a pair laying on my kitchen floor. Actually, two pair- one pair is mine, the other pair belongs to Megan.

Thank God my living room is clean y'all!

I just want y'all to know that yes, I'm busy. I have a lot on my plate. But, I am not super mom. I'm just a mom who is trying her best, just like you.

And you know what..... we are super mom's... but only in the eyes of our children; and that is what matters most.

What We've Been Up To

This is my last stay at home week with Adalyn. I'm trying to enjoy and soak up my time at home, but I'm also busy taking the older girls to school, running errands, sewing, and competing all the other tasks that a mom needs to do.

I try to cuddle with Addy a lot during the day, but I also let her sleep in her crib; she's doing so much better taking naps. Her morning naps are usually fantastic, but around 12-2 she naps off and on.

Her 3-5 nap is shot because we're picking up the other girls, getting home, and trying to get ready for dinner, but we're making it through.

Gretchen made herself a tent using her play table and tons of blankets. I went upstairs to check on her and could only see a foot and a hand sticking out. I called DJ upstairs to see her, and she crawled out from under the table, grabbed a drink, and then crawled back in to sleep.
One morning Addy and I went to Wal-Mart, and I despise Wal-Mart, but I needed to pick up thread, and I didn't want to go all the way into town to pick it up.

We also found this:
I totally bought it for my stepdad's birthday.

I also found this:
I have been wanting a leopard print scarf since last spring and could not find one anywhere! I totally scored with this one for only $4.00!

Here's Addy after an afternoon feeding, buckled in her carseat so we could go get her sisters.

Tuesday night the girls went to our neighbors house so I could go to Gretchen's open house at her school.

On Wednesday, I decided that I would start Gretchen in children's choir in church. She loves to sing and make up songs, so I thought this would be a fun (free) extra-curricular activity for her.
Once we got home from school, I got Addy settled, dinner cooked, and after we ate it was time to get in the car again. To be quite honest, I really didn't want to go. Addy had been crying, and Megan was being her mischievous self, but I knew that I needed to take her.

I'm so glad that we went. Once we got there, we saw a little girl that lives in our neighborhood that we had met at the pool this summer. Her mom is also Meggie's Sunday school teacher. She helped me figure out where to drop of Gretchen, and Megan and Adalyn and I spent the next hour on the playground and walking around the church. We have been attending our church for over a year, but we attend a service in a different building, so I'm not very familiar with the actual building the sanctuary is housed in. We walked around and heard the orchestra practicing and it was the most beautiful music. I could tell that Megan was intrigued so we went into the sanctuary, sat in the back, and peacefully listened to them practicing. It almost brought tears to my eyes thinking that Gretchen would have missed choir tonight and that Megan and I would have missed such beautiful music.

DJ ended up meeting us there and picking up Megan and Adalyn.

Once I picked up Gretchen, she and I went into Hobby Lobby and we saw a hot air balloon.

We've been reading the Wizard of Oz, so I joked with her that it was the wizard's balloon. It was a fun sight to see.

On Thursday, Adalyn stayed with our neighbor for a little while so I could go get a much needed hair cut, mani and pedi... okay, so they mani and pedi weren't needed, but they were certaintly enjoyed!

Phone Pics!

Today's post is full of random iphone pictures and random stories- enjoy!

May 26th.... we enjoyed the sunshine on Memorial day weekend. DJ's mom was in town, and that afternoon MC took a nap. DJ decided to smoke ribs while I enjoyed some sunshine and G enjoyed playing. G decided that she would make us have a tea party and she set everything up. She pulled her picnic table over to Meggie's new princess patio set, and brought her two tea sets out. She also used DJ's bungee cords to join the chairs together (I'm not sure why she had this idea) and she brought out flowers left over from Megan's party. Then, she brought everyone a piece of candy to enjoy with their tea! It was just too sweet.

This may have been Monday, Memorial day.... we really party hard for Memorial day- ha! We stayed in pj's pretty much all day! I did some sewing and picked up the house a bit, but we had a really lazy day.

On Wednesday, I got my hair cut. I so desperately needed one and hadn't cut my hair since November! Seriously, y'all. Pathetic. I have decided that I really want to color my hair since it's so dark, and i'd love more of a honey, caramel color, but i'm also waiting until I find my first gray hair, which i'm convinced won't be too much longer since i'm about to have three daughters!
Megan's teacher loves to fix her hair. It's so funny when I pick her up some days and her hair is in a bun or braided pigtails. Last week, her teacher decided to french braid her hair. I have no idea how she gets Megan to let her fix her hair. Anytime I take a brush to her hair, Meggie immediately exclaims, 'ow!' So, I rarely try to fix her hair. I also have no idea how to french braid, and had no idea Meggie's hair was even long enough.... but isn't it cute!
I picked the girls up Thursday from school, and found that both of them had had accidents! Meggie's cloth diaper leaked at nap time since she slept so long, so she had to change her pants. One day, i'll learn my lesson and take extra clothes- these were pretty dirty on the knee.

And Megan had to wear her 'kitty' shoes. I bought the girls flip flops from Target just so they'd have some to wear to the pool, but both girls are loving their new shoes right now.
Poor Gretchen decided to not tell her teacher that she had to potty while they were outside playing and just decided to pee on the playground. She had to put on these ratty little boy pants, and this orange t-shirt, which she put on backwards! I just have to laugh thinking about how she pottied on the playground, and how much she hates to look like a boy, and this is what she had to put on!

I took the girls to Wal-Mart afterwards to pick up plants for their teachers and to get garage sale signs, and two people commented to me about how cute my girls were. One man even stopped his car and told me how cute they were and how blessed my husband and I were. I just found it ironic that two people thought how adorable they were when they looked like little raggamuffins to me!

Have a blessed day!

Life Lately

It's time for another random iphone photo dump! I love these posts, because it gives y'all a sneak peek into what's really going on in our lives! I read a few weeks ago, that you never really know what a person is going through. A couple might seem like the happiest couple on Earth, but on the inside, they may be torn apart. And, in the world of social media, we all tend to make the grass a little greener than it really might be.
When we got back from my mom's about a week ago, I decided to try putting MC down to sleep wtihout her paci. Total mommy fail, because within 45 minutes I gave in. But, DJ let me :) When I finally had had enough and I knew she wasn't giving in and that one of us had to, I went in her room to discovered she had pooped, and I'm wondering if that's why she was so adamant that she was not yet giving up and going to sleep. It's been several days, but I haven't tried taking her paci away again.

She also would not let me put her down after I had changed her diaper. She knew she'd be back in her bed, and I think she was totally terrified that she'd have to give up her paci again.

Side note: she calls her paci "dede"
DJ had an athletic banquet last week, so I cooked french toast for dinner! He hates having breakfast for dinner, but I love it! Mostly because I never have time to eat a real breakfast; just a bowl of cereal, so anytime I can eat breakfast food, i'm a happy camper!
I checked on G the other nigth before bed, and found her asleep with four extra toys in her bed. It never fails that she plays in her room after we tuck her in. There have been several nights where her room is spotless clean when I put her to bed, and then when I check on her one last time, it's a disaster.

I also made this shirt last week- it's not sewn together, so this is just a rough look, but I've been wanting to create a vintage inspired design and I fell in love with the fabric. I wish you could really see the detail of the flower- it will fray some upon washing, but it also has a spiral design sewn inside that was really fun to make!

This is actually one of a sister set that i'm making, and I really wanted to put both designs on a turquoise shirt, but could not find two shades of turquoise in the right sizes, so I went with one turquoise and one brown, and even though I really didn't want to use the brown, I love how they ended up coordinating!

You'll have to come back later when I share the final outcome!

Random Photo Dump

I have a few random photos to share with y'all today- nothing spectacular, but I still had to share.

A few weekends ago, DJ convinced me to put my scissors, ribbon, and sewing machine down and to join him outside while he trimmed the hedges. I was so glad that I did! The weather is finally turning into spring, with a few bi-polar days in between, but it was so nice to sit outside and just be with him. I later went in to put on shorts, and check on MC (who had been napping) and found her awake. So, I changed her clothes and took her outside too.
There's just something about a little girl in shorts that I love. Only babies can pull off shorts and chunky thighs!
We recently bought Bailey a new dog bed, and she loves it! This one is much bigger than her last and she's on it all the time now!
And, just to show y'all how many orders I've had recently! Here are 8 packages ready to be labeled and shipped out!

Thanks for showing the love on my page (and my blog).

Have a blessed day!

Playing Catch Up

I discovered a few pictures on my camera card earlier this week, and figured I needed to share them!

We actually left for Branson on St. Patrick's day, but I still wanted to make the day fun for the girls. I decided to fix them an easy breakfast since we were leaving early, and decided upon Lucky Charms, "gold coins" (banana slices), and green colored greek yogurt. The girls loved their breakfast!
I also surprised them with more 'gold' on the drive, by packaging up dried pineapple slices for a snack.

When we came back from Branson, my parents came up. My stepdad trains labrador retrievers for duck hunting, and he had a hunt test about 45 minutes from our house. It worked out perfectly that they could come up for a few days. MC and papa really bonded while he was here:
G actually told my mom that she doesn't understand why papa actually comes because he's never here when he's here! (The last few times they've visited, he's had hunt tests.)

DJ and I also decided that we needed to start with the transitions for MC before baby A arrives in July. Our first step was getting her to sleep in her toddler bed. DJ took the front of her crib off on the Friday of spring break.
The first two nights she did surprisingly well! She layed right down like always and went right to sleep.
But, Sunday and Monday nights and the nights to follow were not fun! It took several nights of her crying and us trying to help (unsuccessfully)  for her to sleep in her bed.
There were several nights where we found her sleeping on the floor behind her bedroom door. G also decided to sleep on her floor one night- but, at least she had pillows and blankets!
When we left for Easter at my mom's this past weekend, MC still wasn't doing well in her big girl bed. I was super nervous coming home, but thankfully she's done great!  We've only had 1-2 minutes of her fussing, and then she's out!

After the first week of bad nights, I later found out that she had two top teeth coming in, and I think that's why she did so great and then so horrible, and now so great again!

Our next obstacle, will be getting rid of her "dee dee" (paci) and i'm not looking forward to those fussy nights!

A Bunch of Nonsense

I can't believe that it's Tuesday and that it's April 2nd! Wowza~ March totally flew by! This month is going to be just as crazy, but i'm ready for the ride, because that'll mean one more month of work, and one month closer to summer, and two months closer to baby A arriving!

This past weekend the girls and I went to my parents house for Easter. DJ had practice on Saturday, so he came down Saturday afternoon. The girls were out of school on Friday, so I took the day off, and we left around 9 Friday morning.

We got to my mom's just in time for lunch and just hung out. My brother needed to run an errand, so I went with him and drove, so MC could nap in the car. Afterwards, he read my mind and suggested that we get ice cream from Sonic. MC was awake at this point, so we got her out of her seat, and shared our ice cream with her- she was so happy!
Girl did not want to go back in her seat though when it was time! I can't imagine not being able to wiggle around for the 4 hour drive, and then the other hour that it took to run the errand.

I'll upload more pics from this past weekend over the next few days. I haven't had a moment to go through and edit them, let alone look at them!

MC and I decided to play hookie on Monday, and she and I stayed one more night with my mom. We headed home Monday and she slept almost the entire way. It was heavenly.

After the girls went to bed Monday night- we put them to bed early, because they were still so exhausted from the weekend- DJ met the equipment manager and TUs sales rep (who DJ had worked with at Arkansas State) for dinner. I wisely used this time to start playing catch up on laundry, and then to work on some orders.

This "mommy's girl" bow is available on my Facebook page now. I think it's perfect for Mother's day!
I also did this shabby rosette headband and barefoot sandals set! Both will fit a 6-12 month old, and i'm selling the entire set for only $14.00
I keep telling y'all how much I love mustard yellow.... and chevron.... and this boutique bow combines my love for both.

Swoon.... it's only $6.00
When my mom was here over spring break, we purchased this lemon fabric to make a dress for G. I fell in love with the fabric, and MC's birthday is pink lemonade theme, so G will wear her dress- i'll post about it as soon as the weather warms up and I can get a good picture of her in it- plus, I haven't had time to make a headband.

But, I have enough of this fabric to make a bib and burpie, and I totally want to! So, if you want to order a bib and burpie out of it, then let me know and I just may give you a discount, or free shipping, just so I can have an excuse to make the set!
Hope y'all are having a great Tuesday! I feel like it's Monday since I took off yesterday and I know i'm going to be playing catch up at work and home all week!
