A bit of Seuss, Weekend Wrap-Up, and Orders!

Here's a little bit of everything for you today! Yes, you're getting a whole lot of random, which has been a running theme over the past several weeks. Welcome to my life. In all of it's randomness!
Last week in speech, we made Thing 1's and Thing 2's. I had to come up with something quick for Dr. Seuss/Read Across America week, and incorporated following directions into all of my speech groups. I don't typically talk "work" on the blog, but these were too cute not to share!

Just trace and cut out a hand for "hair", add a circle for the face, and a red t-shirt. This activity would be great for pre-schoolers, and my 3rd grade students even enjoyed making them! It's also great for working on fine-motor skills.

I took Addy with my on a trip to Target on Friday night and she happily (well, she doesn't look so happy) enjoyed the sling. I just love having a sling and how easy it is to carry her around!  And why is it that I always spend a crap load of money at Target! That place sucks me in every time.

On Saturday, I told DJ that it was going to be my selfish day where I sewed and completed projects. First, I tackled the re-organizing of my sewing space, which wasn't much fun, even though it at first sounded like it.

We moved the old living room t.v. upstairs, and moved around some furniture, added some more storage, and I put away tons of fabric, and it was done!

I spent the rest of the day working on your orders!
Infant layette gown & hospital hat $45.00 for set

"Lil Brother" tie shirt $20.00

Embroidered Bib $12.00.

Seriously, wouldn't this be the sweetest baby shower gift with some baby spoons and bowls!
Excuse snot nosed Addy Pearl, but this was her first time sitting in her high chair. And yes, it's on the floor, because that's what you do with a third child. We need to figure out how to squeeze in another chair at our dining room table.

Sunday morning we went to church, then we went out to eat. As we were pulling out of the driveway on Sunday morning, Gretchen said, "So, where are we eating after church today?" Which is not always our typical, even though we do enjoy it- well, that was before we had three kids. So, as to not disappoint her, we went to Red Robin, where it took us an hour and a half to eat because we had a super slow waiter! He was just so bad and so inefficient, and just not someone who needs to serve a couple with three kids that need to eat and need naps!

Megan fell asleep in the car on the way home, so DJ and G stayed outside, while I went in and fed Addy and put her to bed.

Once Megan woke up, they played outside while I went to Ulta and bought new make up! (Another post for another day.)
Don't you just love Megan's sense of style! Talk about pattern mixing!
Then when I got home, I took Megan, (in the jogging stroller), Gretchen, and her friend on a walk down to the pond and back again.

Such a great weekend! A productive weekend! And, we only have this week left of work and then we're off to Arkansas for spring break!

Stay tuned this week, because I have a new Girl Mom post coming tomorrow and a surprise for y'all on Wednesday!

Super Crazy Fantabulous Past Few Days

Well, y'all, it's been a week! Or a weekend, or whatever. Let me just say that i'm so glad that we had snow and ice yesterday and I get one more day off!

I'm not going to be so excited now that we will be heading into another week in June at the end of this school year, thus delaying my summer plans, but for the moment, I'm sort of glad that I have another day. My "to-do list" was only about 1/2 accomplished this weekend!

I didn't blog on Friday, since I was at a continuing education conference, so we have a lot of catching up to do!

Let's get started. Shall we?
Wednesday night we decided to go out to eat. That's what happens when we forget to get something out of the freezer and I'm too lazy to cook.

I picked up the little girls from daycare, went by the house to get Gretchen, fed Addy, and then we went to the restaurant to get a table. DJ met us there, and I was so thankful when he finally walked through the door! Megan was throwing a few fits, Gretchen blew her straw paper across the table, I was trying to feed Addy her baby food, and she was screaming most of the time through it, and it was just crazy. So crazy, in fact, that the people who were going to be seated behind us asked to be moved! I wish I was kidding. I wanted to go sit at their table.

That evening, Megan started throwing up. I started regretting the fact that I didn't have a margarita at dinner.

DJ stayed home with Megan on Thursday until two. I've taken about 6 "sick days" already this year, and I'm pretty sure that if my principals could fire me, they would. I left work around 2 to pick Megan up from DJ's office, and she fell asleep in the car on the way to get Adalyn from daycare.
Bless her little heart.

Thankfully, her little tummy bug was short lived and that evening the girls and I made brownies for DJ.
This is the best part of baking!

Now that I'm a mommy, I have to share the spoon. That's love y'all.

Friday I had a continuing education conference at TU. DJ and I met for lunch and that night we took the girls back to their daycare for a parent's night out.
Here's Addy and I before we left the house! She was ready for bed!
And DJ and I after we dropped the girls off. We were so excited for a kid free date night!

We started off the night by going to David's Bridal, so I could order my bridesmaid's dress for a wedding this summer. Then we went to Hobby Lobby, and Best Buy. We may or may not have bought a ridiculously large t.v.
We didn't have time for dinner, so we went to Sonic.

I decided that the perfect ending to my date night would be a peanut butter cup blast and an order of mozzarella sticks.

I was right. It was the perfect ending.
And yes, we did buy that ridiculously big t.v.

When I tucked G in that night, she asked me to sleep with her. I told her that I would, but when I went upstairs, I had no idea where I'd fit!

Sometimes, you just have to sleep with a bunch of toys to make your daughter happy.
On Saturday morning, DJ and G watched The Little Mermaid in 3-D on our new t.v.

Ridiculous. I told you!

Megan got dressed and chose her bows herself. She was telling me that her tongue was dirty and wanted me to take a picture of her dirty tongue.

That morning, I took the girls to the post office and to Verizon, and the plan was to go to Target afterward, but one big girl kept throwing tantrums, and this mama told her that if she continued to throw a fit, that we'd head home and skip Target. And, i'm not one to go back on my promises so that's what we did.

After lunch and a failed attempt at naps, DJ and I re-arranged his office.

Then, we almost rushed Megan to the ER.

While we were in the office, Megan literally tripped over her own feet, fell into a chair and bit a huge chunk out of her bottom lip.

I called our neighbor to watch Gretchen, and then I called a good friend to see what the best ER would be to take Megan to. She let me know that her husband, a nurse & fireman, was working at the fire station by our house, and suggested that we take her there first so he could get a look. He and the other ER nurse that was on call at the station, said that it wouldn't be worth it to take her in. The anesthesia to put her to sleep for just one stitch wouldn't be worth it, since she didn't bite through her lip. Plus, Megan was already FREAKING OUT, so we decided to take her home, and give her a popsicle to help numb her lip.
She later fell asleep on the couch around 6 pm, so Gretchen and I finally went to Target. Megan was still asleep when we got home, and woke up right around bedtime. I know that's good timing on our part. So, she stayed up and watched a movie with DJ and me.
This is her at 10:30 when the movie was finally over and she finally went to bed.

When we woke up on Sunday, it was snowing and sleeting, so we stayed home from church. We watched Brave and Peter Pan, and then I turned on cheerleading.
Naturally, Gretchen decided she wanted to be a cheerleader, so she went upstairs and put on her bathing suit, and grabbed her pom poms. I know, don't all cheerleaders cheer in their swimsuits.

Despite the snow, DJ took the big girls to the TU basketball game and I got to hang out with this cutie:
Scroll back above and you may just notice that she's wearing the same pajamas as she was on Friday night. And, I assure you, I didn't do laundry. Just keeping it real y'all.

Okay, so here's the office re-do:
We moved his desk over in the corner, switched a few tables around, moved a bookcase, and hung his 49ers helmet on the wall with his 49ers pictures.
We also organized the filing cabinets, but that's boring, and we re-organized his football memorabilia on the bookcase.

I hope your weekend was just as thrilling as mine! Come back tomorrow, because I have a NEW blog post series that is starting and i'm so excited about it!

Weekend Wrap-Up: Spring is in the Air

Our weather this weekend was once again fabulous, and every day that we have a day full of sunshine and warmth, I'm thankful all over again that DJ was able to take the job at Tulsa and move us out of the cold in Indiana! This southern girl just could not take that snow!
DJ takes the little girls to daycare every day, and Meggie wanted to take this little bottle of ketchup with her to school. This girl loves her ketchup!

We had a typical Friday evening. I got home late, made the girls fish sticks for dinner, had a glass of wine with our neighbor, and DJ brought home Pei Wei for the two of us.
This book came in the mail, and I spent most of the evening reading! I spent most of the time in bursts of laughter and DJ just kept looking at me like I was the weirdest girl on the planet.

The book was written by, Melanie Shankle, the author of Big Mama blog, and to be quiet honest, I don't even read her blog (although i'm going to start reading it!) the book was so highly recommended by several blog's that I do read, that I had to get the book for myself!

I suggest that you get it too.
Megan fell asleep in the hallway again, by her sister's stinky shoes. If you're a regular around this blog, you'll know that this is a very common occurrence as of late.

Saturday morning, DJ and I cleaned house, and thank God that recruiting Saturday's at the football office are over, because our house was clean before noon and that my friends is a record.

After lunch, Gretchen and I headed to Hobby Lobby and Reasor's.
She road in the buggy at Reasor's, and I just laughed at how ridiculous she looked!
Addy Pearl slept most of the day on Saturday. She slept from 9-12 in the morning, and I finally had to wake her up to feed her, then she slept from 1-4 that afternoon!
We cuddled a lot when I got back from the grocery store.
DJ grilled pork chops and asparagus for dinner and the girls played outside for a little while.
Then, this happened.

Y'all, this NEVER happens! She fell asleep in her own bed!
We went to church on Sunday morning and I didn't get a picture before church, so I took this one as soon as we got home, and Addy Pearl was NOT happy!
After naps & rest time, DJ took the girls outside to play.

Meggie sported her Hi hoodie from Vine & Ever
And, I cuddled this baby girl most of the afternoon.

And, here's why:
Sunday morning, I noticed that Adalyn had a rash on her belly. I sent a picture to my mom and sister in law (both nurses) and we figured it was an allergic reaction. After church, DJ and I gave her the tiniest amount of Benedry. Her rash got progressively worse, and I decided to take her to urgent care. However, there were like 15 people in the waiting room, and many of them were wearing masks and the clinic is notoriously slow and I didn't want to risk getting Addy really sick.

So, I called DJ and my doctor, and he answered the phone and I explained what was going on. He told me that it was probably Fifth's Disease, and what it was. He told me not to worry about coming in, because there was honestly nothing that could be done for her. That we could give tylenol to alleviate any secondary symptoms. And while I know this sounds like a doctor who just didn't want to work on a Sunday afternoon, I assure it was not. We spoke for around 15 minutes and he told me that she probably needed to stay home from daycare on Monday, and that I could bring her in to the office on Monday. He reassured me and made feel lots better, and I'm so glad that I did not wait the entire afternoon at that walk in clinic!

Addy's rash still looks horrible, so I'm home today, and we're heading to the pediatrician's office.

Because my hubby was home and is so awesome, I was also able to complete these projects:
My dear friend, Kelly, asked me to make a bib for her son's 1st birthday party!
And, I had an order for a Sofia the First inspired pajama set.

I'm also have a sale on appliqué shirts this week! Buy one get one free! You can contact me via Facebook to place your order! This would be a great time to buy a brother/sister set, for a birthday, or even for football season, Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas!

Weekend Wrap Up

We had such a fun, fabulous, super busy weekend! Right now, i'm so thankful that the weather is warmer and the sun is shining, because it's made me a much happier person! I've realized this year that i'm such a grouch when it is cold outside, and our family is much happier when the sun is shining!
Friday night, we took the girls out for pizza, for our annual Valentine's day dinner. DJ and I started this tradition when Gretchen was just a few weeks old, and we wanted a non-romantic Valentine's day dinner. We figured most people wouldn't be having a hot date at a pizza parlor.
Saturday morning we got up and I made pancakes. Then, I sat down to pump....

I typically only pump at work, but I'm needing to increase my supply, not only for Adalyn (we're leaving her with my mom for a weekend in April) but also, for a friend of mine who just adopted a baby. I was able to donate about 50 ounces of milk to her precious little baby boy this weekend, and i'm hoping i'll be able to donate more in the coming weeks and months!

Please pray for me that i'll be able to create a supply for two babies, and pray for the other moms that are donating milk to baby Nolan.

Later that morning, DJ left for junior day at the football offices, and I picked up the house a little and then our friends, The Thummel's, came over to bring Gretchen her birthday present. (They couldn't all make it to G's party.)

Then, our neighbors came over and we talked for a while before the girls and I got ready for the TU basketball game.
DJ and I haven't had a chance to take the girls to a basketball game this year. We've been so busy, and it's been so cold, and with working full time and having three girls, I feel like we never had the time! This weekend was perfect for us to all go to a game together!

Adalyn did great in her carrier the whole time, and even fell asleep!

Gretchen was really excited to go to a game, an I was very impressed when she cheered for the offense when we had the ball!

Bless her little heart, we are trying to teach her how to take a picture, and most of the time she never gets it "right" and always ends up with a deer in the headlights look!
Meggie had lots of fun at the game too! She was all about daddy most of the time, and enjoyed her popcorn and "slurppy". She was so comfortable at one point that she had her socks and shoes off, and ended up taking off both of her hair bows! But, she did get scared with some loud noises a few times. Bless her, she's my sensitive one!

After the game, DJ took the girls home and Adalyn and I headed to Target, and I had the best Target experience ever! It was just so calm and quiet. It was very strange and peaceful all at the same time.
Megan fell asleep on the floor (again) on Saturday night. I told DJ that I'm going to create a huge picture collage of her sleeping on the floor! DJ finally put her back in her bed, but she crawled in bed with us by midnight. I think DJ finally went to sleep in her bed around 1 am!
DJ and I watched  movie Saturday night, and he worked on our taxes, and I worked on Frozen hair bows. I did a pre-order for these a few weeks ago, and i'm loving how they are turning out! I purchased a new piece to use as the bow centers, and I love them!

Sunday morning, we got up and went to church. Afterwards, we headed home for a quick bite to eat, and then Gretchen and I went to a birthday party for a little boy in her class.
Gretchen's friend Connor was there too. These two have such a funny little relationship! I first found out about Connor when she started to talk about him in October. They sit at the same table in class, and one afternoon, she told me she was going to marry him. They play at recess together every day! In November, she told him that he'd have to ask her daddy permission for them to get married (in front of the entire class and a classroom full of parents, because they were there for the Thanksgiving lunch) and there little relationship has grown from there! They have their wedding all planned out- Gretchen is wearing a pink dress and they're getting married at the beach!

His mom and I have been chatting on Facebook and exchanging the stories that we hear every day, and I told her that I had printed a picture of Gretchen and Connor from their Christmas performance, and she asked if Connor could buy Gretchen a picture frame for the picture, (because, G had wanted to frame it). So, after the birthday party, we walked out to their car with them, and Connor was so excited to give Gretchen the picture frame and little puppy dog that he had bought her from the Dollar Tree with his own money! It was so sweet!

Later in the car, Gretchen told me she didn't want to marry Connor anymore, but she did still want to be his friend. She said she was afraid if she told him, that she'd hut his feelings! And I tried to remind her how important it is to be nice to everyone and that it was totally okay if they didn't get married. They're 6 and 5 after all! But, then that evening when we framed her picture, she kissed it and put it on her nightstand! I think she's playing a little hard to get or just wants her mom to not think it's as serious!

We headed home after the party and the girls played otuside for a little bit. My mom came up and is staying with us until Tuesday.

DJ left yesterday to drive to Indiana. His cousin passed away this past week, and he's going for the wake and funeral, and I'm just a nervous wreck today because he's driving through ice and snow to get there!

Gretchen is out of school today, and I have professional development at school, so my mom came up to watch Gretchen. The little girls went to daycare, and i'm sure my mom and G are having a great time today!
After dinner last night, my mom took us out for ice cream. The girls love spending time with their Gee!

Before Megan went to bed (in her bed!) she told Gee, "stay at my house!" And then at some point she woke up crying for her Gee. I had her get in bed with me, but then she got up and found Gee sleeping upstairs in Gretchen's bed, and climbed in bed with them!

I hope y'all had a great weekend too! I hope you're enjoying warmer weather! I'm so over winter and ready for flowers and spring!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Let's see if I can get back to the blogging world this week now that we are all back to normal and not very sick anymore! The last two weeks someone in our family has been sick, or we've all been sick, and this mama has had enough!

I finally went back to work last Thursday after taking five days off work!  I was able to catch up a bit at work and prepare for this week, and then it snowed, and school was cancelled. So, the girls and I are home today just hanging out in our pj's.

………………………………………………………………….

Last Friday, Gretchen received the Student of the Month award at school. DJ and I knew about it for maybe a week or two before Gretchen actually found out. I was so excited that my assistant principal, let me go to her little ceremony at school Friday morning! We didn't tell Gretchen, but I knew she would be so excited! Every month after their assembly, she would tell me that she was not the student of the month, and that she was going to be sure to ask the student who received the award what they did in order to get it. I guess she finally learned what she needed to do and how she needed to behave in order to be chosen.
She was super proud of her certificate!

Daddy and I were both there to cheer her on!

Friday night, we went out to eat at Olive Garden to celebrate Gretchen's birthday. We take her every year to OG, because it's always been her favorite restaurant, and my cell phone wouldn't take any pictures because the memory was full. I assure you though, we had a great time and the girls each got a dessert.

DJ went to football on Saturday and the girls and I stayed home and worked on laundry. I took a little nap and Gretchen and Megan watched The Sound of Music.

DJ came home around 3 and the girls and I made chocolate chip cookies.
Gretchen had been begging me all morning for us to make cookies.
After dinner, DJ got out "Rock Band" and tried to teach Gretchen how to play. Unfortunately, Gretchen still isn't coordinated enough to play, but they did have fun singing and dancing.

We were planning on going to church Sunday morning, and just as we were waking up it started to snow.

Within 20 minutes, our front yard looked like this:
We decided to stay home because who knows what it would've been like in two hours when church was over.

Since we decided to stay home, I did some sewing:
I completed Adalyn's Valentine shirt!

And when Addy woke up from her morning nap, I discovered the her first tooth had finally broken through!
Yay Addy!
Megan said, "I step on you!" and then tried walking on my legs.
Then she wanted to hold her baby sister.

Gretchen put together one of the lego sets she received for her birthday.

DJ smoked ribs (in the snow) and we watched the Super Bowl Sunday night.

Our weekend was pretty lazy. We just enjoyed being together as a family. It was a good one!

Hope yours was too!
