Lake Portraits- kind of.

Every year at the lake, we try to get some good photos of the girls. We waited until right before we were leaving, because it was so hot, and because we were too dirty every other day! They started out okay....

 but, MC has learned to walk and she didn't want to stand still. 

So, we tried to get the girls sitting....

I asked G to hold MC's hand to try to get her to be still, but this is what happened....

 Then this....

 And, it ended in a full out melt down.

Maybe next year, i'll get a decent one of the girls.

At least they cooperated for a family photo.

Tubes, Ribs, Talents

After having a few weeks off on vacation and starting back to work this past week, i'm already ready to go back here:

 to the lake, where life is simple, the days our long, and where we barely have to lift a finger. 

 We all really enjoyed swimming and cooling off in the water, snacking on the boat, and hanging with our family. 

After we convinced G to tube, we couldn't get her off. 

 She even did, "no hands"!

 DJ smoked meat two of our days at the lake. He made brisket and ribs, and they were so delicious, that I still feel like my waist line is expanding just by looking at this picture:

 Every summer, Grandma Dee has the kids put on a talent show. G dressed up in Grandma Dee's scarves, boas, bows, and more!

 She sang and danced. 

 And convinced Cousin Amy to dance with her, 

 DJ's aunt brought their Rock Band game, so we were fully equipped with a guitar and microphone. 

 And, grandma Dee pulled out some extra special decorations. 

So, when's the next lake trip, DJ?
