Baby Gifts

I had two baby showers this past week to attend, and I just didn't have it in my budget to purchase baby shower gifts. So, I told DJ he was on daddy duty and that he could enjoy his t.v. shows because I had sewing to do and to not bother me! It's been so long since I have had the chance to sew and it felt good to get my supplies and machine back out. 

The first baby shower was for a co-worker. She's have her 3rd child, but her first little boy!

 I made him this paisley tie appliqué shirt, and did a small zig zag stitch on it, so with some washings the fabric should fray a little.

 I also made him a matching paci clip.

 I ordered MC a paci clip like this from Etsy, and once I received it, I knew that I could make these. So far, I've made her two, and I really need to go ahead and make her a third one. They've been so useful, and they're just different than what you'd find in the Target baby aisle. I love it.

 I also made her two burpies.

All of the material I had scraps of, and this was the perfect way to use them up! I also had the burpies left in my stash and the onuses that I used. So, I literally spent nothing on these gifts.

The next baby shower was for one of our new coaches wife. She just had her first little boy in the beginning of April, and has just moved to town. I can so relate to how she is feeling right now, because we did the same thing 11 months ago!

I had this football fabric from 4 years ago when I found it and didn't know if I was having a girl or a boy, but I knew I had to purchase it! I cut a football out of it, and stitched it in TU gold.

 I also made her two burpies, the one above is perfect for her to bring to the TU games.

And, i'm still in love with this mod-dot fabric that I've had forever!

It was so fun celebrating these moms and their new babies! I think they loved their gifts, and the fact that I do some sewing, isn't something I just talk about, so many people were surprised that I made them!
