I still wouldn't call myself a bona fide fashionista, but I have had fun trying to create some styled looks this pregnancy. I've hit my third trimester, and i've gained more weight than I'd like, so things are starting to not fit quite right, but i'm at least feeling good about myself. And, I think that is what all women need no matter our size. Confidence.
So, here are three recent looks........
The first one is a grey stripe non-maternity tank that I bought about a year ago at Target. It's suppose to flair out, and it fits my belly pretty well, and was just the right length. Give it another week, and it'll be too short.
I paired it with black maternity pants and gold wedges.
(For the record, my feet killed me by the end of the day and throughout the next day.)
I also added a few of my bracelets from Charles Emerson Designs and the three that my sister in law gave me to add some color.
Last week, I had dinner with a friend, and decided to put on this maternity dress from Old Navy. My friend actually gave it to me, and it's a little wash worn, but it was super comfy, and it's blue and green which is one of my favorite color combinations right now.
I paired with a green sweater from Target and a chunky beaded blue necklaces and brown wedges.
The dress is tea length, and I liked that it wasn't all the way to the floor or super short. This is definitely going to take me through the rest of the pregnancy, and it has straps that can be removed.... I just think it'll be perfect for summer!
(Savings tip: if you have a friend who recently had a child or is done having kids, ask to borrow their maternity clothes! Most will give them right to you, because they never want to see them again! And, i'll be selling mine or giving them away for free after this pregnancy. In my opinion, they won't be able to be thrown at someone fast enough!)
On jean day at work, I went with my skinny maternity jeans from Motherhood Maternity. I have to roll them up once, because they shrunk in length and now hit right at my ankles, and i'm pretty sure that I can't pass them off as cropped jeans. So, if you learn anything from this post- BUY A GOOD PAIR OF MATERNITY JEANS- SPEND THE MONEY!!!!!
I've kicked myself every pregnancy for not splurging on a good pair of maternity jeans.
I paired the jeans with a grey GAP favorite t. It's not maternity, and is sort of short, so I added a white cami underneath. This is actually an Undercover Mama tank that is suppose to clip onto your nursing bra providing you with tummy coverage.... but I wear it below my bra, under my "girls" and it stays in place.... it just adds the extra length and coverage that I need right now, and looks like I have an actual cami underneath.
I paired this shirt with my favorite green sweater (the one you saw above, and the one you've seen on every other maternity fashion post!) Best $20.00 I've spent.
I paired it with mustard flats and a blue bracelet and earrings.
I love adding a pop of color.
And, just so you know, when I get home, this is what I change in to.
You can never be too comfortable!
10 more weeks of this pregnancy to go, and only 2 1/2 more weeks left of work.... pretty sure I won't be adding too many more maternity clothing posts after work ends, because I'll either be in pj's, an outfit like the above, or a swim suit (yikes!)
