Afternoons Outside & Soccer

05.00

We are finally having gorgeous weather... and the kind that is happening every day, and we're staying above 50 degrees. Which, shouldn't be a shocker in Oklahoma this time of year, but it is. I'm hopeful that our bi-polar spring is over.

I had DJ pick the girls up from school last Tuesday afternoon so I could get some sewing finished and they could stay late and play outside. Their teachers did not take them outside. Seriously.

So, on Wednesday when I picked the girls up, I decided that I would let them play in the backyard. We actually play more in the front, but i'm getting too big to chase Meggie when she dashes for the street. So, I talked G into playing in the backyard. I pulled up a chair, and another to prop up my feet and tried to catch an hour of afternoon sun.
G loves to climb on her Barbie house. She use to call it her "tree house", but now it's her Barbie house.... I guess she's growing up.

She tried decorating the top of the house with flowers (i.e.: weeds), but the wind was strong and the weeds blew away.
Our neighbor has a soccer goal, and the girls decided to play for a while.
Then, they did this and it totally melt my heart.

As I was sitting and watching the girls play and get along and both look for flowers, my heart skipped a beat. I realized that this time next year, I'd have three of them. Three girls to wear matching outfits. Three girls to play in the backyard together. Two little girls who looked up to the oldest, and three girls to love and enjoy.

I'm not quite sure i'm fully prepared for what three girls may bring to our life (although I expect there will be some grey hairs, much to worrying, breaking up fights, and convincing each other that they should return their sisters clothes that they borrowed), but i'm looking forward to it.
G had my phone one afternoon and she wanted to take a picture of me.
On Thursday evening, I joined DJ as he took G to soccer. He's going out of town this week, and i'll be responsible for taking her Thursday night, so we figured I should probably learn how to get there and where to go.
We took MC as well, but I told him that he was responsible for chasing her around. I chase her at gymnastics and I was not about to chase her around soccer fields.
I have to admit, i'm pretty impressed with G's soccer skills and the fact that she's trying and she's interested the entire time she's outt here. Well, except for the time that we caught her eating the tiny rocks in the turf.  Maybe i'll be a soccer mom rather than a dance mom?
And then, I saw her doing this..... rolling the ball along with her hands rather than her feet.

Total Rule Breaker.

Check back tomorrow for my first "How Do I?" post!
