Soccer & Gymnastics

08.37

DJ decided that he wanted to start G in soccer class. She started last week and really likes it!
I took a few pictures before they left, and I have to laugh at her outfit; as DJ says, she needs play clothes rather than cute clothes!

She chose to wear cotton shorts with hearts all over them, and then she wanted a "sporty" shirt. All we had was a football shirt!
She also wanted to look 'sporty' in her picture, and would not stand still! She kept pretending to kick the ball.
I finally thought that I had convinced her to stand still, and she tricked me!

DJ took her to soccer class, and she's in a very small class. Only four kids were there, and they had two teachers. He video taped the drills they learned, so they could practice at home. The class teaches the fundamentals of soccer, rather than just letting them play a game.

She even came home with her own soccer uniform, and now she won't have to wear her heart covered shorts!

G is still taking gymnastics once a week, and making slow progress.
She's on the left crawling across the mat.

And, on the balance beam in this picture.

She actually does a really good job on the beam and typically won't let her teacher help her.
It was hard to get a picture of her jumping on the trampoline, but I tried.
I'm really proud of her, and all that she's learning!

She'll also start swim lessons mid-June, and then we'll need to decide between soccer, gymnastics, or if she wants to go back to taking dance lessons. DJ and I have always said that she could do one activity at a time, and her soccer only last until mid-June since we were late with sign ups. And, we'll let her make the decision of what she wants to do next.

I can't wait to watch her learn more!
