This week is Gretchen's first full week of kindergarten! We're all working on getting back to our normal school year routine, and i'm happy to report that we are making it!
Monday morning, I woke up around 7 and started getting dressed. I was smart enough to take a shower the night before, so I just had to fix my hair and put on make up and proper clothing. Sunday evening we had set out all of Gretchen's clothes for the week, and she woke me up bright and early around 6:45 (I continued to doze until 7) already dressed! She was super excited to go back to school!
I managed to get all of the girls dressed in matching pinks and oranges. And, we got Gretchen to school on time!
After we dropped G off, we headed to the football office.
DJ decided that he would not shave during football camp this year. A few other staff members joined him, and when he arrived at work Monday morning, he discovered they had all already shaved off their beards. He texted me and asked me to bring him his razor and shaving gel!
I had to take a before picture:
Megan and I went up to his office to hang out for a few minutes, and she enjoyed a doughnut.
DJ has his students bring doughnuts in for the other video students if one of them is late. Apparently, one had been late, so he had to bring doughnuts. Megan and I enjoyed them.
After football, Meggie, Addy, and I headed to Target, then home for lunch and naps and then we went to pick Gretchen up from school.
Part of me enjoys sitting in the car riders lane waiting for Gretchen. I get so excited to see her and hear about her day.... that is, unless the other two are screaming in the backseat of the car.
I cooked dinner Monday night, gave the girls baths, and then went on another walk once DJ got home.
After my walk, I did my Bible study, and snuggled with this girl.
Tuesday was fairly uneventful. We took G to school and then came home to wait on the cable guy to arrive.
I spent the morning cuddling these two girls.
After lunch the girls took naps.
I put Adalyn in her crib for the very first time for her afternoon nap. I thought she was sound asleep, so I decided to go upstairs and complete a shirt order. I stopped about halfway through, and discovered that she was screaming her poor little head off!
I finally got her calmed down and then it was time to get Gretchen from school.
Like I said earlier, the car rider lane can be a favorite time of day for me, unless the above is happening.
For some reason, Meggie was in a horrible mood despite me giving her snacks and having her watch a movie. Addy cried too, but only because she hates to be in her carseat if its not moving.
Gretchen informed me that she told her teacher she had not had breakfast Tuesday morning, so her teacher let her go to the cafeteria to get food, despite the fact that she had breakfast and had no money in her lunch account. She said, "mom, you don't even have to have money, you just tell them your name!" Pretty sure i'll be getting a bill for the breakfast.
We eventually made it home and relaxed in front of the t.v. and I cooked dinner. Addy fell asleep with me wearing her, and I put her in her crib again, and this nap was so much better!
The girls didn't get baths Tuesday night, so we watched t.v. for a while. DJ came home and took over again, and I went on another walk with my neighbors.
DJ got to hang out with this little girl:
Totally melts my heart to see him holding his baby girl.
Once again Wednesday morning, was the same routine of waking up and taking Gretchen to school.
We came home from dropping her off and spent the morning with the cable man... again. The t.v. wasn't fixed yesterday, so he was here for 2 /12 hours trying to fix it again. After he was finally finished, Meggie, Addy, and I went to football to take something to DJ that he had forgotten and so I could sign a piece of paper for our house closing.
Afterwards, I took the girls to Chick-Fil-A for lunch and then we went to Hobby Lobby.
Neither of the girls got much of a nap, so once again, they were fussy in the car rider lane.
DJ's out of town for our first football game of the season, so I took the girls to McDonald's for some ice cream. We came home and relaxed before dinner, I picked up the house, and all of the girls got baths and were in the bed by 8. I was pretty proud of myself!
And, then I realized, the kitchen still needed to be cleaned. Great.
