Last Tuesday night, the 13th, we had Meet the Teacher at Gretchen's new kindergarten class.
The date was actually moved up a week early, and i'm so glad that a friend sent out an email, because we would have missed it with being out of town. So, we changed our travel plans and headed home that morning, and made it home by 3, when her meet the teacher started at 4.
DJ was able to come home and go with us, and i'm so glad because I wouldn't have made it with all three girls by myself.
Gretchen was so excited to go see her new school! I didn't get any pictures while we were there because I didn't want to be that mom. Although, i'm thinking I won't get any pictures the day she actually starts, so I probably should have taken more!
We decided to pack Gretchen's backpack and drop off all of her school supplies so she wouldn't have to carry them in the first day on her own.
Her school actually has about 10 (or 12) kindergarten classes! It is humungous! I was so nervous that her class would be hard to find, but it wasn't, and I think she'll remember where to go on her first day.
Her teacher was very nice and has her own kids and grandchildren.
When we went in, Gretchen introduced herself, and showed her teacher her new earrings. Then, we went around to different stations and grabbed a folder packet, signed up for snacks, left our contact information, figured out her car rider number, and finally found her "locker" where we left her supplies.
She was so excited that she has a little friend from dance in her class! It's such a large school and even though we know a handful of kids going, we knew that there'd be a slim to none chance that she'd actually know anyone in her class.
Megan was excited to tag along with her big sister! She had to take her backpack and wear it to school too!
