Laundry Helper

DJ and I were doing laundry the other day and MC decided to help:

(Don't worry, no babies were harmed in the taking of this picture) And, for some reason, I feel like I should add a disclaimer to never close your baby in the washing machine and never ever turn it on. I have seen way too many horror stories in the news. Seriously.

DJ turns 32!

DJ's 32nd birthday was on the 17th of July. We celebrated with dinner at Chili's. That day was also my first day back at work after having two weeks off, and I completely failed my husband that day. The girls, especially G, were worn out after  their day and I didn't have the energy to do anything. Including, getting G dressed appropriately, so she wore her cupcake dress up outfit and crown, because "I don't have another birthday dress."
G also decided to sing "Happy Birthday" as loud as she possibly could to her daddy!
After dinner DJ took the girls to Marble Slab to pick out his own birthday cake (told you I failed) while I ran to Target.

I'm so sorry to my husband that his birthday was pretty miserable! We'll have to make it up next year when he turns 33!

Last Cruise Day

I didn't take a lot of pictures on our last cruise day. I think I was just exhausted. We slept until about 9:00, and then had breakfast, and tanned for two hours. My sister in law and I joined my grandmother at the art auction that afternoon, and then we had dinner.

After dinner, we went to the comedy show and taught my grandma how to dance:
The girls again- I think we decided we could carry on the tradition well!
I walked around that evening and took some photos of the ship for G. This is from the top deck looking down.
The pool and water slide, which not one of us went down!
 Our last sunset.
We finally got our male dinner mate to loosen up that last evening at dinner!
We landed Saturday morning, and I was so ready to get home and see my girls. Thankfully, I was able to fly home, rather than drive, so I had DJ and the girls in my arms that evening! It was such a great trip, but I was so thankful to see my babies again!

And, let me highly suggest that anyone celebrating a big birthday needs to do it on a cruise or girl trip vacation!

Yum, Shopping, and Another Dinner

After we snorkeled in Cozumel, we ate. Water play makes for hungry bellies. Not to mention, the mile or two walk to this fabulous restaurant, my mom supposedly knew of, and which we never found.... yeah, we were famished!

Here's my SIL and I before lunch- notice that giant coke in front of me! I hadn't had one all week. But, please pardon the runny mascara under my eyes. Snorkeling does that to you.
We found out that queso in Cozumel is the same as it was in Progresso- melted cheese wiz. But, the food was amazing.

My mom and grandma ordered & shared this:
I had the chicken tacos, which weren't really tacos, but it was good none the less. And, please notice the white rice rather than our version that we receive at mexican restaurants.
After we filled our bellies, we walked and shopped some more.

We purchased two more dresses for the girls, and a wind chime for DJ. And headed back toward the ship with our purchases.
Everyone was so tired, and stayed in the room to rest, but I went to the adult serenity deck and read and watched us sail away.

But, it was time to get ready for dinner again....... Here's the girls before dinner.
And my mom and her best friend, Libby- because we hadn't gotten a picture of them together all week!
I should've taken pictures of our dinners on the ship, because they were fabulous. We had shrimp appetizers, crab cakes, pasta, soup, lobster- you name it. And pretty much every night, I had the melting chocolate cake. Yum.

I ended up changing into comfy clothes again, and we went out for the last show. Here's my grandma and I.
And our towel monkey we found as we went back to our state room and crashed.

Snorkel, Snorkel

The next day we arrived in Cozumel! The skies were cloudy, but our spirits were sunny and looking forward to a day of snorkeling, dining, and shopping. But, let's take things one at a time, shall we?

Today's post is all about our snorkeling adventure. First, let me tell you that DJ and I went snorkeling in Cozumel on our cruise a few summers ago, and I hated it. Apart from the margarita's and the sun, it was pretty awful. My goggles didn't fit, salt water got in my eyes, we were drifting far away, and the guides were yelling at us to swim back toward the boat, because the current was pulling us too far away. So, there I was snorkeling for the first time, and I think I saw one fish total. And then I ended up with a rash on my legs. Perfect.

So, I wasn't too thrilled about going again, but I wanted to try it and my mom promised this would be a better adventure. When she and Libby took this same cruise right before DJ and I did, (and this trip as well) they met "Sexy Tiger", a snorkeling adventure guide with his own boat, own thong, and own tequila. They booked with him for all of $30.00 and had a marvelous time. We were determined to find Sexy Tiger or his equivalent this time around too.

So, here's our view before we actually got off the ship.
We didn't find Sexy Tiger, but we did find a company that allowed us to snorkel with them for about two hours for $35.00 with our own guide, a small boat full of other cruisers, and plenty of coke, water, and beer. Perfect.
We had to follow the guide through a shop then finally to a hotel where we boarded the boat. Here's a street in Cozumel right after we got off the boat. And, let me tell you, i'm officially jealous of anyone that lives near palm trees- they're beautiful.
Ok, so we were finally able to board the boat.....
Which, had two glass bottom compartments, so we were able to see the bottom of the ocean; fish, tires, and all, as we rode along.
 Goodbye cruise ships!
 Here's my mom and I:
And, Libby blowing up her life jacket. Literally.
 And Christine,
The boat captain took us to a coral reef area that was about 25 feet deep. I was all fitted in my snorkeling gear and a little nervous, okay, a lot nervous that I was going to be stung by a jelly fish (which I have a huge fear of), but I jumped in anyway. And, it was breathtaking. I saw fish and coral that I was unable to see the last time around. I could literally reach out and touch a fish. I didn't because my only thought was, I touch one of those fishies, and with my luck a giant jelly fish would come out of no where and give me the karma I deserved.

The next thing I knew, it was time to get back into the boat for our next reef visit.

Here's Chrissy, Christine, and Libby after snorkeling.
And my mom and Tiffany after snorkeling.
And my mom and I again.
And, here's our other boat passengers....
We were dropped off at another reef, and I was honestly more nervous the second time around. I had good luck the first time, that I couldn't believe that it was going to be that easy and beautiful again. I finally got rid of my nerves, and enjoyed the fish. Some of the coral was just amazingly shaped as well, and I just kept thinking how God created it. And felt as if I were invading it's space. I asked my grandma to take pictures of us snorkeling, but this was the only one I got. Bless her heart, for not being able to work a camera.
Here I am again, after snorkeling twice, and having a much better time! Pardon the other girls rear end in the background!
Stay tuned for the rest of our Cozumel adventure in tomorrow's post!

Dinner & Dancing

By the time we got back from shopping in Progresso, it was time to get ready for dinner.
 ^ My grandma.
 ^ My Sister in Law.
 The girls before dinner.
 My grandma, mom, and Christine.
 Libby, me, Tiffany, and Chrissy.
 Our wait staff dancing again.....

After dinner, we killed some time by looking at the gorgeous sunset. I mean, how do you not see God's presence.

 Here's me hanging out,
 And my mom.
Then we went in to the theatre and watched the cast teaching passengers how to disco dance.
This guy below, was the best sport i've ever seen! He shook his booty like no other, and you could tell he was a proud daddy dancing with his daughter.
 And, our third towel animal!
