I'm actually not talking about my mind this time! Although, with three little girls and football season in full swing (promise y'all, it's in full swing at my house and has been that way for three weeks now!) I probably am loosing my mind!
I'm more determined than ever to loose this baby weight fast! With Gretchen, I waited a full year before I joined a gym. Megan was about 6 months old when I joined Planet Fitness, and believe it or not, I actually quit PF just a few months ago. Call it crazy, but I wasn't going to the gym when I was pregnant and I thought I'd go back, but how will I find the time when they don't offer childcare.
So, Adalyn is just over 4 weeks old, and I'm already finding ways to fit fitness into my schedule. And yes, i'm going to be blogging about it. It's the only way i'll stay accountable.
Last Monday night, DJ walked in the door, and I handed over the three girls and said, "I'm going for a run." Thank the good Lord that he didn't look at me like I was crazy, well, he might have, but I didn't notice. The girls were pretty much ready for bed, and Addy had just been fed, so I knew he could handle the three girls.
Unfortunately on Tuesday there was no time for a workout, we had dinner with the football staff at the country club.
Wednesday evening rolled around, and he helped me bathe all three girls when he got home, I fed Adalyn, and then told him the same thing.... "I'm going for a run."
Both nights I was able to walk a little over two miles, and I did a few jogging intervals as well. I'm using the Map My Run app in order to track time and mileage. This app is also compatible with facebook, but please, please, y'all do not upload that you just completed a run no matter how proud you are! The app shares the actual map/GPS location of where your run was. I'm one of those super paranoid people that thinks I could be kidnapped, and that's just a sure fire way of letting those kidnappers know the routes you take when running, or where you live.
DJ worked late on Friday, so I pulled out one of my old workout DVD's, "Walking Away the Pounds" that does light interval training with light in home walking. The video took about 30 minutes, and it says that you walk two miles once the video is complete. I know that I get a much more brisk workout when I actually walk through my neighborhood, but on late nights for the hubby, this may have to do!
Saturday was another day off. This past week, I've managed to work out one day, while taking a break the next day, as i'm trying to ease back into a workout routine. I didn't feel like walking on Sunday, so I pulled out a pilates video, and completed it, although, I can definitely tell that I have weaknesses in the abdominal area- especially 4 weeks after child birth! I also completed 50 squats, and a few crunches.
I have to be careful about loosing weight while i'm breastfeeding. I know with breastfeeding, that you are suppose to take in an extra 500 calories a day, leaving me with eating at least 1500 calories... I really haven't done the math on that one. So for now, i'm not really watching what I eat, but i'm not over indulging in ice cream, sodas, and junk. Breakfast has typically been a bowl of cereal, followed by a sandwich at lunch with pita chips, a snack, and then dinner which varies. In the past, my milk supply has dipped while trying to lose the weight, so i'm focusing more on toning and feeling back in shape rather than numbers.
But, speaking of numbers, since having Adalyn, I've been able to loose 15 pounds. I still have 30 pounds to loose before I'm happy with the number on the scale, and having my old clothes fit me again.
Thanks to Pinterest, I've found a month long squat challenge that i'll be doing, as well as crunches, lunges, and pushups.
So, stay tuned while I get this hot mama body back in shape!
