Shop Update: Sister Set
I really debated having my mom help me make sister shirts for the girls or ordering something from Etsy, but once she received a new embroidery machine and software, that enabled us to make our own designs, I knew that this was the way to go!
One afternoon, I sat around playing with the software, and came up with the design for the shirts. I finally decided on colors, and set to work ordering ribbon and pieces for the hair bows, and my mom set to work making the shirts.
Here's how the set turned out:
Agh! Aren't they adorable?!?!
I cannot wait for the girls to wear them!
Gretchen and Megan will wear their shirts & bows to the hospital when they meet Adalyn on Friday. Once Adalyn has had her bath, we'll change her into her onesie & bow. Then let the obscene amount of pictures begin!
And, here's a close up of their bows:
I'm not sure why I forgot to take a picture of Adalyn's hair bow, but it's the same, except it says "Lil Sister".
You can also order this set for your little honey pie's! A set of three shirts is $50.00, or order them for $18.00 a piece. The hair bows are $10.00 each due to the bottle caps, feathers, and special order ribbon.
Don't forget to follow me via bloglovin (link on sidebar), since Google Reader is disappearing into cyberspace, and feel free to pin any of these images with credit to Honey Pie Accessories! And, don't forget to follow my Facebook shop page!

Princess Party
This picture has nothing to do with the rest of the post, but MC has learned that she can get out of her bed. She has recently been sleeping behind her bedroom door with her light on. Last night, I was able to squeeze in and put her back in the bed, but she is having the hardest time actually falling asleep at night (and even during her daily naps) because she gets up to play, or kick the door, or empty the wipes out of the wipe container.
But, how sweet is she!
G finished her swim lessons on Thursday, and after she and DJ came home, I packed a picnic lunch and took the girls to the pool. DJ had to run into work, so he wasn't able to join us, but he did pick up both girls around 12:45 and took them both home for naps.
I stayed another hour and enjoyed my quiet time and laying out time! I'm determined to be tan when I give birth next week! Because who knows when I'll be out in the sun again.
We had homemade pizza for dinner, and then G and I headed out to her friend Abbey's birthday party!
G put on her bet party dress, necklace, and princess crown for the event. I managed to convince her to leave her crown in the car, just in case there were party hats to wear.
Abbey had the best little party, and I'm tempted to steal the idea for Gretchen's 6th birthday! It was at The Little Dollhouse in Jenks, and the girls came in and put on dress up costumes and played on the stage or in the bounce house.
After a while, they each had their nails painted, make up put on, and their hair fixed!
Here's G waiting on her hair to be fixed!
And, afterwards!
Here's G with the birthday girl!
Once all the girls had their hair and make up done, they had a dance party on the stage, and then had a fashion show!
Then, they had cake and ice cream, and watched Abbey open presents! Abbey asked me in February and for several weeks to buy her the same princess Sofia set that Gretchen received from her birthday. Of course, I was able to pick it up for her, and she declared, "I already have this!" Ha, she probably does, but I made sure to include a receipt so it could be returned, but I thought it was so funny that she had told me three months before her birthday what to get her!
I love Miss Abbey's honesty! I think it would be so much fun to be invisible in her house for the day because she's so witty and innocent and just flat out hilarious!
Here are all the girls in their princess dresses!
Happy 5th Birthday Abbey!
Gretchen said many times that this was the best birthday party ever, and continued to talk about how much fun she had!

Checking Things Off.....
Adalyn's arrival is just a few days away! Like, we're talking single digits! I couldn't be more ready and I'm so excited to finally meet her and bring her home to our growing family!
The past few days have been filled with crossing things off of our "to-do" list..... Gretchen finished swim lessons on Thursday and I've been slowly packing hospital bags, finishing hair bows, and making sure that the girls will be well taken care of while DJ and I are in the hospital.
I made a month long menu and went to the grocery store, and somehow DJ and I managed to stuff all of the groceries in the refrigerator, freezer, and pantry. He also washed and vacuumed out both of our cars, and we've been trying to get all of the paperwork done for our house in Indiana..... we have a pending sale- Woot Woot!
Megan had her two year well child check up this week and received one shot. Bless her little heart, she is still so timid and shy and cries any time she's around someone new that is trying to take her or help her. The nurse even gave her a sticker, but MC barely let them touch her. It was a bit trying to hold her down and let the doctor do her job, but we made it!
The only time MC was happy was when she was alone with me! And, you see, she had to bring her baby along with her.
The doctor gave her a sucker, but I don't think it was enough bribery to convince MC to like her!
After the appointment, we headed to the football office, where DJ had Gretchen, and picked her up. Then, we drove through Sonic for dinner. After dinner the girls fought over their bean bag chairs..... my mom bought G one for Christmas and the first time that G used it, MC wanted to 'share', so my mom decided to buy MC a bean bag for her birthday. We all thought that if we had two bean bags, one for each girl, then there wouldn't be any fighting over them. Boy was I wrong! MC wants them both to herself!
Here's G before I made her go put her pj's on..... I bought fresh green beans from the grocery store, and she's been eating them uncooked. Silly girl.
And, here I am at 37 1/2 weeks pregnant! I haven't blogged about my pregnancy in a while, so here's some playing catch up! I started going to bi-weekly visits in May, and at 36 weeks I started going weekly. I am favorable for the induction, and my doctor and I agreed to induce on July 5th. He was in agreement with inducing at 39 weeks, and Friday the 5th is exactly 39 weeks. At first, I wasn't sure with a July 5th birthday, the day after the 4th of July, but now, i'm all for it- only because if I waited through the weekend, it would be close to my birthday and it would mean that i'd be pregnant for a few more days!
I'm not even going to mention the amount of weight I've gained. Thankfully, people don't seem to notice and for now, it's just a number on the scale. However, Adalyn might be at least 10 lbs, plus the water weight is maybe another 10, and so on!
I'm not a good water drinker, but at night I want ice cold water. I also want ice cream, chocolate, and peanut butter cups. Nothing about this pregnancy has been healthy, except for maybe the chia seeds and greek yogurt I had the other day.
I've had braxton hicks contractions, but nothing more serious than that. Rolling over is definitely a chore, and insomnia has hit. DJ and I have stayed up until at least 11, the past few weeks, and I know that we're crazy, but neither of us is having an easy time falling asleep.
I plan on getting in a spa, mani/pedi day before Adalyn arrives, but I keep forgetting to book the appointment! The rest of this weekend and next week will be spent at the pool- I've got to get my tan on! And finishing up our last little to-do's!
My family will arrive on the 4th, and we plan on smoking ribs and swimming, and DJ's family will arrive on the 5th!
I told DJ that in reality, she'll be here in just a few days, and in some ways, that seems really fast, and in others, it still feels forever away!

Shop Update: Collegiate Wear
A few weeks ago, I invited my fans to take part in collegiate product test items! I had tons of ideas in mind for collegiate appliqués and I'm so pleased with how y'all responded! Seriously, I think I have the best fans ever, and I love how so many of them are returning customers time and time again!
This first shirt is Gamecock inspired. I love that I found the grey and black shirt, and I used garnet colored fabric for the helmet and a black with white dot for the face mask. I was going to monogram the shirt, but I had a fear of it ruining, so I didn't take the risk!
A helmet shirt in your teams colors is $20.00, monogramming is $5.00 extra.
I also had a request for a Razorback shirt.... I had some Razorback ribbon lying around, and I wanted to replicate the ribbon onto the shirt and make a matching hair bow. I love how the "Peace, Love, Hogs" turned out, and it can be made in your team too!
This may be my favorite set ever! I made an orange and blue tutu with a matching "I Love Gators" applqiue shirt and a matching hair bow!
Here's a close up of the shirt.
And, the bow!
I'm still taking collegiate orders, you can check out the complete album here. Because Adalyn will arrive in just a few days, all collegiate orders will ship the first two weeks in August- so make sure to get your order in now, so i'll have plenty of time to prepare and you'll have your collegiate wear before kick off!

"How Do I?" Blog
To check out my other "How Do I?" posts go here.
I started blogging a few years ago as a way to document our growing family and my business. I probably started my blog more for marketing purposes, thinking I could reach an entirely different audience, but it quickly grew into more family posts, and random tid bits of things that I love!
Blogging quickly grew into such a fun hobby and I love that I can document our girls lives! But, it can be overwhelming, especially if I try to venture away from blogging just about hair bows and family!
When planning a series of posts, such as this one, I really have to think ahead and brain storm what all these posts will entail and how to keep y'all interested and provide meaningful information, and let me tell you, i'm glad I don't try to do these every single day!
My "Teaching Tots" series was so much fun when G was younger and I planned a slew full of educational activities and themes to keep us busy! Now, those posts are few and far between as life has been filled with two (almost three) kids! And now, pinterest provides us all with fun activities and fresh ideas whenever we may need them!
"All About Birthdays" was started when I was planning one of Gretchen's birthdays one year! I still love party planning, but I typically only post in that subject matter in January or May, when i'm busy planning one of my own little honey pie's parties! I encourage you to click on the blog buttons on the right side of the page, because there are tons of birthday party ideas, and many that I haven't even used! Of course, pinterest and Etsy provide easy ways to plan your own child's parties!
So, how do I find time to blog? When I'm working, I typically blog during my lunch break. I rarely ventured down to the teacher's lounge this year, because I was at so many schools, so blogging gave me a way to get a break from work! I also blog on Sunday evenings after the girls are in bed.
I really have to stay on top of my picture taking! Thank the good Lord for the iphone and it's capability to take pictures, edit them, and upload them! I think the majority of my pictures are iphone pictures, because it's the only camera that is ALWAYS with me!
If I have tons and tons of pictures from one weekend, like Easter, then I break those posts into several days! I have a really hard time narrowing down which pictures to share!
I love that Pinterest has made blogging easier to upload your posts over- just click on the Pinterest icon on top of a photo, and you can easily pin any of my posts!
Google Reader is going by the way side, make sure you follow my blog via Bloglovin (that icon is on the right side of the page too)! Thanks to Bloglovin, my posts are automatically shared with my facebook page and my twitter feed!
I also love the scheduled posts feature, because I can sit down one evening and schedule an entire weeks worth of posts and then not have to think about it later in the week!
I think since the end of April almost every single post has been a scheduled post!
I don't try to blog for money or giveaways or free things. I blog for me, and I blog about what I love! I don't have a running theme, but I blog about what interests me at the time! I'm pretty hodge podge in my real life, so why shouldn't I be on my blog too?!
What are your tips for staying up to date with your blog posts? Make sure to leave me a comment, and i'll follow your blog if i'm not already!

Summer Days...
Last week was DJ's first full week home with us! I love when the season is over, and he has four weeks home! Usually, those four weeks are spent going on trips and little vacations, but thanks to Adalyn's pending arrival, we are stuck at home. And, I must say, I'm really enjoying it!
G started swim lessons, so MC and I get to hang out together for a little while every morning. She even helped me clean one morning! She'll follow me into the laundry room and say "wash cloth" and then will help me dust, wipe down kitchen counter tops, and even windex the windows for me.
She's also potty training this summer, so most of her days are spent in her pj top and a pair of panties! She's doing so good though, and we might average 1-2 accidents a day, and she's starting to wake up dry during her naps!
She also loves babies, and has been carrying a baby around with it's "night night". I can't wait to see her reaction when we have a real live baby in the house!
One morning last week, Gretchen woke up early and so did I, and we were able to enjoy Lucky Charms for breakfast while everyone else was asleep! She's also been super excited about swim lessons, and most days she'll put on her swimsuit by herself and be all ready by the time DJ and I wake up.
Last Thursday, I decided that we'd try to play outside and I put MC in her swimsuit, filled up the water table and turned on the sprinkler. G decided to go back inside after about 10 minutes, and after declaring that she was bored! But, MC and I stayed outside for a while longer and I layed out while MC poured buckets of water on my legs.
She thought she was the most hilarious thing ever!
Friday morning was lazily spent at home and that afternoon we went to the pool.
On Saturday afternoon, I decided to take G to the pool while DJ stayed with MC while she napped. But, a friend called wanting to bring me a Sonic milkshake- and who could refuse that? And we decided to go to the splash pad and playground in the neighborhood behind ours.
The girls had fun playing in the sand!
We stayed for about an hour, and headed home, and then we all went to the pool. We stayed for two hours and MC had so much fun jumping in over and over again!
Once we got home, DJ put pork chops on the grill and I put the girls in the tub. Gretchen asked for me to curl her hair, so she would have curly hair for church.
Sunday morning I got up and made blueberry muffins and then decided I just didn't feel well enough to go to church. I haven't been sleeping well and felt achy, so DJ decided that he would take the girls by himself. I'm pretty sure G would have been heartbroken had we told her she and her curly hair would be staying home!
I managed to get the girls ready and here's G all ready for church.
And, the back of her curly hair!
Once they left for church, I fell asleep on the couch and slept until DJ called letting me know they were on their way home.
I got up to fix lunch, and afterwards, DJ decided that he had enough of his sinus pressure, so he went to urgent care for a prescription, and G played on the computer while MC napped.
Then, I worked on making loops, pinwheels, and boutique bows with my box of ribbon scraps!
Once DJ came home from the doctor, he took a nap and the girls played. I cooked dinner, and thankfully had enough left over for a freezer meal, and then we watched a movie and put the girls to bed.
It was a perfect lazy Sunday, which went well with our perfect lazy days that we had last week!

Swim Lessons
Gretchen started swim lessons last Monday! I'm really hoping that she'll learn to swim (for real) this summer, although I'm pretty sure I was 7 or 8 before I really learned how to swim! But, DJ is bound and determined to have her on ski's ASAP- although it'll probably be next summer- so this needs to be the year for her to swim!
DJ's been off so he's been taking her to swim lessons. On her first day, I had a doctor's appointment, and then I've stayed home with MC. I decided it was just too hot for me to take her every day, and I didn't want either one of us chasing after MC.
So, thanks to DJ for capturing all of these pictures for me!
He said that she's doing well, but she doesn't like to get her face in the water or go all the way under.
She is getting much better about jumping in though, and when we're at our neighborhood pool, I let her forego the floaties if I'm in the water.
They're learning to walk along the fence and they "make music" with the fence when lessons are over.
I was able to take her last Thursday, and boy was it hot! She finishes up this week and i'm so excited to see how she progresses!
