Megan's Party: Lemonade Theme

05.00

I knew for months and months that Megan's 2nd birthday party would have a vintage lemonade theme.  It went from strawberry lemonade to pink lemonade and I knew I wanted to incorporate a vintage flair. I am absolutely head over heels in love with how the details of her party turned out!
My sister in law, made us this burlap door decoration. It was so sweet of her, and i've decided to leave it up all summer!
If you came through my front door, you were immediately greeted by party favors! I really wanted to set these up outside, but we didn't have an extra table, and this way, you could grab your party favor on the way out. I absolutely hate when I forget to hand out my party favors, because who wants the leftovers hanging around?
Each family took home their own lemonade stand to go. They received turquoise and pink cups placed in a cellophane bag with a sticker I ordered from Etsy that says, "Megan's 2nd Birthday Thanks for Coming!"
Families also received a portion of lemonade mix, a pink and yellow notebook, pink, yellow, and turquoise ice cubes, and lemon head candy all placed in a yellow bucket.

Lemonade Mix: Target brand powder portioned out
Lemon Head Candy: I bought two bags for $1.00 and portioned them out into cellophane bags
Notebooks: I found in Target's $1.00 section
Ice Cubes: Also found in Target's $1.00 section, but these were $3.00 per bag and I bought two bags. We picked out the colors we needed and kept the rest for ourselves.
Cups: I gave out three cups & probably should have done four, but I bought these for the party too, so these were basically 'extra's'.
The girls helped put these favors together about a week before the party. It was a great way to incorporate them in the planning!

I spent the most money on our party favors, food, and Megan's outfit. I wasn't very inspired with decorations and wanted those three to be the main focus of the party.
I used vintage lace table cloths on the table; provided by my mom.

Guests dined on Chicken Crescents.

I bought sugar cookies from our grocery store, and took them to Megan's daycare, but saved the left overs and placed them on a crystal tray.
The cake is Pink Lemonade cake mix and icing with edible pearls.

I served pink lemonade and yellow lemonade. The pink lemonade was placed in a pitcher, while the yellow lemonade was pineapple flavored and placed in my drink canister.

Here's the recipe for the Pineapple Lemonade: 1 cup Country time Lemonade mix, 2 cups cold water, 1 can of chilled pineapple juice {46 oz}, 2 cans chilled Sprite
I also ordered pink and yellow paper straws from Etsy and placed them in a canning jar.
My mom had this glass urn of lemons at her house and I asked her to bring it up. I tied jute string around it into a little knot.
I also placed three jars of daisies and gerbera daisies on the serving table with a lemon in front. I folded a doily (JoAnn's) and tied it on with jute string.
Megan also served as a decoration in her own right! I really wanted her to have a fun vintage inspired outfit. I purchased a yellow petti romper and a chunky bead necklace. You can get the necklace here. I made her hair flair. You can find my shop here.

I pinned so many things to inspire this party. You can find her party pin board here.

Check back tomorrow for all the party fun!
