It's Fall Y'all! ~Decorations~

12.26

I was so thankful when September 22nd rolled around and it was officially FALL! I decided last Friday night that it was safe for me to drag out my fall decorations and get my house Fallified!

I have an antique secretary in my entry way, and I removed basically everything with the exception of the white vase. I filled it full of a fall flower arrangement and glittery pumpkins. I added a few dishes, bowls, squirrels, and this rod iron candle stand with an ombre taupe candle.
I wanted to find a fun fall photograph to display, so I dug through my photos that still aren't put in albums and found this picture of G crawling over pumpkins at the pumpkin patch last year. Perfect.
I'm totally in love with anything that glitters or shimmers. I added these acorns into a leaf dish.
I'm so thankful that I pledged Alpha Gam in college. My sorority days gave me a jump start on fall decorating! These little squirrels were the perfect addition to my entry way.
And here's a close up of my flower arrangement, complete with glistening pumpkins.
I kept my living room somewhat simple because I have four little hands that like to touch, pull, and remove items. On a side table, I added an acorn dish full of acorns and a squirrel candle holder. There's also an acorn shaped candle dish, that MC removed before I took this photo!
On top of our DVD tower, I placed this large squirrel dish full of glistening fall gourds and pumpkins.

On my kitchen island, I pulled out a glass hurricane and filled it with shimmering pumpkins, a pilgrim woman, and a pumpkin candy dish.
On the shelf, I added my pilgrim couple, a salt and pepper squirrel and nut shakers, a candle and a pumpkin arrangement.
My grandmother actually made the piece around the candle. It was on a glass dish, but that candle had melted in the attic, so I just pulled off the arrangement and added it to a plain candle.
I added placemats to the table, and kept the centerpiece simple. I've wrapped the bottom of the hurricane in jute, filled it with coffee beans and replaced the red candle for a taupe candle.
I placed two fall platters on top of my cabinets.
Here's a close up of the leaf. I love this one, because it's red, buff, and green- AGD's colors.
Back in the living room, I replaced just a few things on the mantle. I tend to decorate in earth tones browns, beige, and touches of color anyway, so it was easy to replace just a few things and have it still feel like fall. I added brown wicker pumpkins, and a pumpkin candy dish.

I actually don't have a lot of Halloween decorations, so I only had this sideboard table to decorate. I made the "trick or treat" bucket for G when she was one, and i'm making another for MC this year. Their ghost footprints was a pinterest project last year, and my mom bought me the "Count Down to Trick or Treat" sign last year. I just added ribbon to hang it. The pumpkin candy dish was given to me by my mom, and I'd love to replace it, because it's awkward carrying to the door every Halloween, but i'm not sure when I actually will replace it!
Finally, I hung my fabric scrap banner on the stair rail. I used it on my fireplace last year, but I wanted my fireplace to be more sophisticated this year. I plan on adding a burlap banner to the fireplace this year, and this banner added a fun touch that leads the way upstairs to the play room.
I'd love to see your fall decorations! Leave a comment with your blog so I can visit!
