So, this first picture isn't from this past weekend, but rather, from last Monday; but it was too good not to share. I picked G up from preschool for gymnastics. As we were changing her into her leotard, she told me that her nose hurt. I assumed, that it was because she had a little cold, allergies, or that she scratched it. We got in the car and headed to the gym, as she continued to complain about her nose hurting. It finally dawned on me that maybe, just maybe she had stuck something in her nose. This is how the conversation went:
"G, did you put anything in your nose?"
"I think so mommy."
"Well, what wasy it?"
"Um, we were making scarecrows, and we used cotton balls for his nose. I picked found one on the floor and put it in my nose."
Once we arrived, I got out of the car, turned the flashlight on, on my phone, and had her tilt her head up so i could look in her nose. Sure enough, was a tiny orange cotton ball. I told her that we would have to skip gymnastics and head home to see if I could get it out of her nose, and that if I couldn't, we would have to go to the afters hour clinic. All this, while I'm talking to my mom on the phone, because, she's a nurse, and that's just who I call when we have emergencies such as these. G started to cry, and beg me not to take her home. So, I told her that she could do gymnastics, but that she would have to participate with her nose hurting. I did let her instructors know before hand, and I told her that if it hurt super bad, that she needed to tell them, so we could go home. She endured the whole class, and the cotton ball was still there when we left. I decided to take her home and attempt to pull out the cotton ball before heading to the doctor. I wanted to save the $30.00 copay because i'm cheap, frugal like that. I got out my tweezers, layed her on the couch, and made her tilt her head up as far as she could, and after promising her Halloween candy, she finally layed still enough so I could pull this out:
In almost 5 years, we had surpassed any emergencies of this kind.
Now, on to the important stuff- how the girls & I spent last weekend. This is what I wore last Friday. Thank goodness for jean days! I put on my skinny jeans, a Gap grey long shirt, a black shurg, and a fun teardrop necklace from Ball & Chain (you must check out their facebook page.) I also wore my tall slouchy brown boots.
After work, I went to get my hair cut. I hadn't cut my hair since July, and yes, it was way past time! I just did a trim, shortened up some layers, and cut some of the thickness out of it. Honestly, it looks the same.
I picked the girls up from preschool and took them out for pizza at our "favorite pizza restraunt" as G calls it. We got 1/2 pepporoni, and 1/2 the Boz, which is pepporoni, cheddar cheese, bell pepper, and bacon. Delish.
I texted DJ these pictures so he could see what we were missing. Above is G's "surprised" look. As soon as MC realized I was taking pictures, she whipped out her best grin!
Afterwards, the girls and I ran to Target. Satruday was filled with organizing toys in both of their rooms, as well as the living room, washing sheets, and doing tons and tons of laundry!
Saturday afternoon, we went to a friends house to watch the TU/Houston game. G pretended to be a football player:
And, I'm proud to announce that TU is still undefeated in conference play! We only have two more games in the regular season, and I couldn't be more ready for football to be over- although, i'm not going to complain about the amazing season we've had thus far!
Sunday was a rainy, lazy day. G played, MC napped, we stayed home from church, and I made lots of Christmas bows- which you'll be seeing in tomorrow's post. Unless, you're already a facebook fan!
Hope you had a fantastic weekend too!!!
