MC turned 15 months yesterday! This week was her first week at ILCAP (daycare) and a week of getting use to a new schedule as well. She whined or cried every morning when I dropped her off, although she had been going every so often in August, but finally, yesterday, she didn't whine or cry! I carried her into the room, and put her down to play, and she stood there, and I slowly crept away, waiting for her tears, and they never came! Success!!!
She finally weighs about 19 lbs. and I'm not sure how long she is. I'll be scheduling a doctor appointment for her soon, just for a well child check up.
She still loves to eat, although I feel she is starting to grow a tiny bit pickier, and she loves to feed the dog! She throws anything she doesn't want on the floor so Bailey can have it!
She says, "Momma, Dadda, Thank you, Dog, Gotcha, Bye-bye" and tries to imitate "Gretchen". Her teacher also reported that she tries to imitate "please" and other words. MC loves to babble, and she "lectures" us quite often.
She's a climber. She climbs the stairs in our house if the baby gate is even cracked. She climbs on top of G's stool, and climbs into her bumbo chair. She also climbs onto the kid-size rocking chair in our living room, and then stands up. She climbs on top of the dishwasher when it's open, and this week, she climbed onto DJ's chair when the leg prop was out, and when I was lying on the floor, she climbed on top of me and on to the ottoman, and again stood up.
She's starting to play with her books more, especially after bath time, and we are finally trying to establish more of a bedtime routine with her, although we are still able to put her down in the crib and she falls asleep.
She sleeps 12 hours a night, and when she's at home, she takes 2 naps a day. (They are around 2 hours). At daycare, she can only take 1 nap a day, and it averages 2 1/2 hours.
She still uses her paci, and I've reminded myself that it was around this age, where we stopped allowing G hers, but i'm not ready for MC to give it up yet. We've had a lot of changes this month, and i'm just not in a rush.
She can drink out of a straw cup and a sippy cup, although she likes to take a drink and spit it back out. We have not given her eating utensils yet.
She has four top teeth, two bottom teeth, and 1 top molar that is breaking through (which explains why she has been a drool monster lately!)
She is so happy, and just loves to talk, smile, and laugh. I still think that she will be timid and shy, but also mischievous. It's so much fun watching her personality emerge more and more!
