Adalyn turned 8 weeks on August 30th, and 2 months old on September 5th.
I cannot believe she has been in our family for two entire months. It does feel like she's always been a part of the family, and that God knew our family was not complete with just Gretchen and Megan. I'm thankful every day that God knew better than DJ and I.
Addy slept a 7 1/2 hour stretch on August 30th, and has since continued to sleep at least 7 hours. Before the 30th, she had been sleeping in 5-6 hour stretches at night, which means she was really only getting up once in the middle of the night, sometimes twice, and that made this mama happy!
We are finally getting in a more consistent bed time. She goes to bed around 8, and then I get her up and feed her around 10:30, and she goes right back to sleep. She sleeps until 5 am and eats for about 10 minutes and is right back to sleep. I get her up for the day around 8:15 in order to get her dressed and fed before we have to take the other girls to school.
She takes an excellent morning nap. It's either in the car, while we are running errands, or in her crib if we are lucky enough to be home.
She eats again around 11 or 12, and then I feed her around 2 or 3, then again between 4 and 5, and then around 7:30.
She takes great naps until around 2:00. When we have to get the big girls from school, she cries almost the entire time. She prefers for the car to be moving and does not like being in her carseat if the car is stopped.
She naps in her crib during the day and on her stomach. At night, she sleeps in our bedroom in her bassinet and tightly swaddled.
She is able to smile and will coo.
She recognizes when I come into her view and when I leave.
She holds her head up well.
We are successfully breastfeeding.
Megan is still in love, although she doesn't touch her as much as she had over the first month. I think the newness might finally be wearing off.
Gretchen still prefers to do her own thing.
She has been left with a babysitter on two occasions and took a bottle like a champ.
She has been swimming.
She enjoys her swing during her wake time, but she prefers to nap in a bed.
She takes a paci, or "dede" as Meggie calls them.
Addy went to the doctor on Friday, September 6th for her two month well baby check up and shots. Her doctor reports that she is developing on track.
She weighs 11 lbs and 4 oz. and is 23 inches long.
