DJ and I wanted to take the girls to The Christmas Train last year, but tickets sell out fast and we weren't able to get them. When I found out when they were going on sale, I was determined to purchase tickets early! I bought them online as soon as I got up at 6 am, and the entire train was sold out by noon the same day!
We went Sunday night, which couldn't of been a better night! DJ was off the entire day Sunday and the weather was fantastic! It was about an hour's drive, but the girls watched a DVD and DJ and I enjoyed catching up!
We ate dinner as soon as we arrived at 6. DJ and I had frito chili pies and the girls had hot dogs. I have to admit, the food totally hit the spot!
After dinner we decided to get in line for the train. The wait was maybe 45 minutes, but it felt like it went faster than that.... here's G showing off while waiting in line.
And the girls and I.... I don't know what was up with G, because she did not want to take pictures with anyone, unless she was making the weirdest face!
Here's DJ and G.
MC and I.... she was pretty happy! And, I'm thankful that she can still fit in the sling- I think it was the best $20.00 I've spent!
Once we arrived to the station, we were given our tickets.
And we finally got a family picture.
You couldn't really take pictures on the train ride, but the girls really enjoyed it. The cars had windows, and it was warm and toasty inside while we heard the story of Christ's life.
Afterwards, we walked around Dry Gulch. We walked through shops, played on the playground, and finally went to see the puppet show.
G even rode one more train before we left!
We decided this will be an annual tradition in our house! It was so much fun... i'll just have to stay up until midnight next year to get tickets!
